The microTALK Cobra CXT425 two way radio is a great mid-level radio. The CXT425 has a maximum range of 25 miles in ideal conditions (up to one mile in urban conditions). It has 22 GMRS/FRS channels and 142 privacy codes.

The CXT425 has some great features including VOX hands free operation, scan, 10 channel memory, backlit display, selectable power levels, and 10 call alerts.

One great feature, the CXT425 features NOAA weather alerts. This makes it perfect for use as an emergency radio, or to take on camping trips.

The CXT425 uses rechargeable led-free batteries and comes with a mini desktop charger and attached belt clips.

I only received the two way radios a few weeks before school was out so I have not really had the opportunity to get the full effect. My last set, another brand, stopped charging so I'm hoping these do not do that. I have a good feeling that they will not due to the fact that my gym teacher also has a set and has for a good while.

Bought 2 packs (4 radios) for a cruise with my family. Used them on the ship and while on excursions at ports. Worked wonderfully. They didn't quite reach from end-to-end of the ship, but they were worth their weight in gold!! A must for any cruise goer!

We are tour guides and use the radios to alert one another when tour groups arive. We have purchesed two pairs of radios and none of them will charge. the charger shows charging but the radio itself is not charges. Each set only worked for a few days. A lot of expense for nothing!
