The Cobra CXR825 and CXT225 are now in Stock

The Cobra CXR825 is touted by Cobra as "world's most compact high-powered GMRS/FRS radio" and we believe them. This is a very compact two way radio that still has all the features you expect including VOX hands free operation, silent paging, backlit display and NOAA weather alerts. It has 22 GMRS/FRS channels and 142 privacy codes. It even comes with a lithium ion battery.

The Cobra CXT225 is a surprisingly loaded entry-level design. The CXT225 features VOX hands free operation, NOAA weather alerts, LCD screen, battery saver and a low battery indicator. The CXT225 has 22 GMRS/FRS channels and 121 privacy codes. Those are some great features for an all-purpose walkie talkie!

George, just to verify is it a CXR875 or CXR825? We carry the CXR825, however I am not familiar with a CXR875 model. It is possible the batteries, charger or the AC power adapter for the charger could be defective and the batteries are not actually charging properly. It is also possible the batteries could be draining quickly due to operating conditions. to better answer your question I would need to know the specific conditions under which the radios were operating after the batteries were charged. Were the radios transmitting very frequently or constantly during the trip? Were they on high power most of the time?
Cobra typically offers a one year warranty on their radios. Since the radios were purchased from Wal-Mart back in April, you will need to contact Cobra support to troubleshoot the issue while the radios are still under warranty.

    Gentlemen:
Following all the necessary instructions including calling the FCC for licensing regulation, everything seemed to be going well until I finished charging the CXR875 (COBRA MICRO TALK) FOR OVER 24 HOURS.
I purchased this two-way radio from Wal Mart last April 4, 2012.
The very first time I brought out from home, these radios I took out from the racharging unit, the batteries were dead after one hour driving to our destination--obviously these radios were NOT USEFUL for our family during our outing.
Frustrating as it was for the first time, I once more recharged these radios upon arriving home. According to BATTERY RECHARGING INSTRUCTIONS, it is safe to sit the radios continuously being charged.
The second time I brought these fully charged-walkie-talkies for our travel to another city (a 3-hour drive), the batteries died once more--making these radios non-operational and useless for my family.
Why are these LITHIUM ION BATTERIES (ultra high capacity) don't serve their purpose when I needed them?
Do you have BETTER batteries to accompany these expensive walkie-talkies?
I'm glad my family and I were not at an emergency situation when these situations occurred.
Thank you for your kind attention.
    Sincerely,
    George Mateo
