Hello, do privacy codes affect range?
If yes, which one has best range DCS or CTCSS?

You scout group is at a large event and your radios are setup with a DCS tone. You are communicating well within your troup when an angry scout leader from another troup comes up and is very upset that your troup is interfearing with his and other troups. All the other frequencies are jammed with scouts so changing frequencies is not an option.
    What do you do?
    1. Turn off your DPL and cope?
    2. Have them and all the other scout troops turn on DCS?
    3. Tell them "I'm sorry but we are doing the right thing by using DPL "Privacy Codes" and its your problem....
What is the ethics involved with this situation.

Hi Craig, if you already purchased a GMRS license, you are basically there. GMRS is assigned to specific frequencies that are preset in the channels of consumer GMRS radios. There is no need to program frequencies into a GMRS radio because they are already assigned. Channels 1-7 on a typical 22 channel FRS/GMRS radio are shared FRS/GMRS, channels 8-14 are FRS only and channels 15-22 are GMRS only. Once you are licensed to use GMRS channels (channels 1-7 and 15-22), it's simply a matter of charging up the radios, turning them on and tuning them to the same channel and you're on the radio.
For more information about using GMRS radios, listen to The Two Way Radio Show Episode 1 - An Introduction To Consumer Radios.

    Hi There,
I recently purchased a set of Uniden GMR283802-CK 2-way radios. I went ahead and paid for a FCC ZA license, my question is I'm having trouble finding any help on how to get these radios connected to my channels and any resources on any tutorials on this subject. How do i know for sure that I am in fact connected to the proper GMRS channels and are functioning??
    Thanks,
    Craig
