Isn't a fundamental aspect given short shrift here, that the usual limitation is the effective transmission range of the handheld, to the repeater? If it has a high antenna/position it may extend the range a bit, but the essence of a repeater is it is going to greatly extend the signal range by its transmission power and location. Your unit may pick up that repeater signal, but not come close to responding unless there is another repeater in range of your little wimpy unit's transmission range. The triple digit ranges would require multiple repeaters in a row synced to the same frequencies, and with the end repeaters close to the handhelds.

You fail to mention the BTECH GRMS V1, Dual Band, HAM channel monitoring, repeater capable, detachable antenna, programmable monitoring (Chirp) and best of all, $56 per radio. Put that in your table on HTs with repeater capability. Us it and its great.
