The FR-531-2 family radio supports the 14 FRS channels with a maximum range of 2 miles. It offers channel scan and hands-free operation. It is a low end, economical model but would be a good radio if your use is very infrequent, and if you do not plan to use it in crowded environments. Each FR-531-2 radio requires 4 AAA batteries, which are not included. The FR-531-2 is a twin pack and included two radios.
