The Icom IC-F60-81-DTC business two way radio is a heavy duty 4 watt 400-470 MHz UHF radio designed for demanding work environments. It is waterproof meeting IEC 529 requirements and is designed to work in heavy snow, rain, and able to withstand sudden temperature changes. The IC-F60 has a compact design that meets mil standard specifications while still having all of the communication features you need.
The IC-F60 is also Intrinsically Safe if used with the Icom intrinsically safe BP-227FM battery pack (included). This ensures that the electrical and thermal energy of the radio is low enough that ignition of the hazardous atmosphere cannot occur. Other two-way radios contain equipment that can create internal tiny sparks and such sparks can ignite flammable substances present in the air. The Icom IC-F60 is Class I,II,III, Division 1, Groups C, D, E, F and G; Nonincendive Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, and D hazardous locations when used with Icon BP-227FM batter pack.
If you are looking for privacy and filtering, the IC-F60 has CTCSS/DCTS tone filtering for interruption free use. The IC-F60 is able to have up to 10 2-tone codes on a single channel. This is great for those that need multiple district paging on one channel. The radio also has voice scrambling for additional privacy and security. With 128 channels and 8 memory banks you are able to use a wide variety of channels for flexible, dynamic communications.
The Icom IC-F60 has an 8 character alpha-numeric screen that shows the shows channel, tone code, bank, and scanning channel. The eight buttons on the radio are programmable and the red button on the top of the radio can even be used as an emergency button.
With the ability to change antennas, and at 4 watts of power, the IC-F60 has the range and clarity needed in today’s professional radios. The radio is also repeater capable, and has call alerts, caller ID, and selective call features.
The Icom IC-F60 is able to use Li-Ion or AA alkaline batteries (with optional AA adapter tray), and comes with a large capacity 1700mAh Li-Ion battery pack for an average of 10 hours of operational time. The IC-F60 also comes with a belt clip, removable antenna, and Direct Trickle Charger.
The Icom IC-F60 is a tough, water proof (to IEC 529 requirements), compact design loaded with features and designed for constant use indoors and out.
