Introducing the Midland MXT100 MicroMobile™ 2-Way Radio, the GMRS transceiver designed exclusively for use in your vehicle! With a full 5 watts of power and detachable external magnetic mount mobile antenna, the MXT100 offers the capability for extended range beyond that of the average GMRS portable handheld walkie talkie.
The MXT100 features 15 GMRS channels and 142 privacy codes for full access to all available frequencies on the General Mobile Radio Service. It's also compatible with all other Midland and most other makes and models of GMRS radios.
The Midland MXT100 has additional features found on many popular handhelds, including auto squelch, keypad lock, monitor mode and keystroke tones. It also has channel scan with a controlled frequency synthesizer to monitor radio activity and silent operation to mute beeps and tones when you need that quiet ambiance while driving on the road.
The MXT100 is also extremely versatile. Its ultra compact design allows you to mount it easily, either horizontally or vertically, almost anywhere in your vehicle. Its unique Display Flip function lets you mount the MXT100 upside down with full front panel functionality and without compromising the readability of its clear, bright LCD display! The flip-frame detachable mount installs on or under your dash and allows you to quickly remove the radio from its bracket by simply and easily sliding it out.
The MXT100 includes a large internal speaker built right into the chassis for clear, crisp communications under noisy road conditions. Need an external speaker? No problem. There's a handy 3.5mm external audio jack in the back. The MXT100 also comes equipped with a high grade hand microphone connected to a coiled cord.
The Midland MXT100 includes hand microphone, mic holder, vehicle mount with hardware, detachable magnetic mount antenna, 12V vehicle power adapter, owner's manual and a one year warranty from Midland.

Good Little Radio For Mobile/Base Operation review by Mike on 4/18/2017I purchased this radio to replace a UHF business radio that has been re-purposed elsewhere. This little gem has clear audio (especially when paired with UHF business portables), a tough feeling microphone, and a low profile. I do find disconnecting the mic cable from the unit is difficult, and actuall purchased a small flat-head screwdriver for that purpose. I also had to extend the mic cable with a homebrew setup - the plugs used (not RJ45's!) made that a little challenging. I mounted the unit on a pre-built base with external speaker and speaker-headset selector switch. Good clean, and strong, audio out the speaker jack works very well with this. And the low power draw means I don't need a large PSU to drive it. I don't use the included antenna (nowhere to stick it to) so I use a back-of-set dual-band antenna that works just as well. Best of all, if I need the radio for other functions, it's ready to go, along with the portable radios in the kit. I also like that it has a ciggy plug for power - so I can use it in the truck or trailer if need be.

I put these in each of our cars. I use a standard GMRS antenna, 5/8 over 5/8 wave. Range is great. I use them with Motorola GMRS HTs.

Purchased this radio to use in my RZR it has worked great. I did add an external speaker just to give it a little more volume. Over all very satisfied. My freinds that ride with me now have them in all of their RZR's

I'm not a guy that would normally write any reviews. But I did buy this radio and I was impressed. I probably have 10 Motorolas in our group of ATV riders. I did not realize that Midland has 5 watts over the 1.5 Motorola. Now that I have a Side by Side Polaris Ranger and RZR this is the best 2 way radio to have. The speaker is very load and clear. I mounted it on my roof with the speaker facing down. The impressive part is being able to hear my friends call me on the two way radio over my stereo system. With the antenna on the roof we were able to reach much farther than the hand held. One thing that ca in real handy was the retractable Mic cord that you can buy at a truck stop. Pulls the Mic cord away from you and not bothered by the cord dangling or bouncing off the clip. Brian Olson San Marcos Tx
