Motorola T8550R two way radios are a popular radio for the hunter. The T8550R Talkabout has the same features and 18 mile maximum range of the T8500R, but includes camouflage faceplates and push-to-talk earbuds. The earbuds have a push-to-talk microphone and are a nice addition, giving you the ability to communicate quietly and discretely.
Lightweight, rugged, an 18 mile maximum range, and loaded with features, the Motorola T8550R radios are great for most situations. The T8550R supports the iVOX hands free feature, allowing the radio to act as a speaker phone, freeing your hands for other activities. Support for NOAA weather channels is also provided, allowing you to access continuous local and regional weather broadcasting.
The Motorola T8550R radios support all 22 FRS and GMRS channels with an amazing 121 interference eliminator (privacy) codes per channel, but the features don't stop there! This model supports an 18 mile range in optimal conditions (typically 1.8 miles in urban conditions). The Motorola T8550R model also offers Motorola's VibraCall vibrating alert, which is perfect for those situations where silence is important.
