Uniden GMR-2889-2CK Two Way Radios with Charger
The Uniden GMR2889-2CK is a high quality two way radio, advertising a range of up to 28 miles in optimal conditions (typically less than 1.5 miles in urban conditions). This radio offers two nice features that are somewhat unique: auto channel change, and group mode with direct call and caller name display. Auto channel change will update all radios in your party to a new channel to help reduce interference. Direct call allows you to communicate privately with one specific member of your group. The individual receiving the private message will see the callers name on the display of their radio.
The Uniden GMR28892CK supports all 22 FRS/GMRS channels with 142 privacy codes. It also supports NOAA weather channels and NOAA weather alerts, meaning you can be alerted if severe weather is entering your area. The GMR2889-2CK will support hands-free operation when used with optional headsets. This radio also offers a channel scan feature, silent mode, and 10 call tones.
To take advantage of the auto channel change and direct call features, all members of your party must have Uniden radios that support these features.
