This radio offers three nice features that are somewhat unique: auto channel change, group mode with direct call and caller name display, and it is so waterproof it floats. Auto channel change will update all radios in your party to a new channel to help reduce interference. Direct call allows you to communicate privately with one specific member of your group. The individual receiving the private message will see the caller’s name on the display of their radio.

The GMR3699 meets JIS7 waterproof standards, this means it is rated to be submerged in up to three feet of water for 30 minutes and not be damaged. Even better though, it is designed to float.
