Vertex makes the conversion to digital easy with the VXD-720 Digital Two Way Radio! The VXD-720 has the ability to operate in both analog and digital mode, giving your company the flexibility to keep using your analog devices while upgrading to a digital system as you need. The VXD-720 features dual-mode analog and/or digital scan and a mixed mode priority scan to allow operation in digital mode while it scans and communicates with users of analog radios.

The VXD 720 is available in VHF (5W/1W) and UHF (4W/1W), with 512 channel capacity. It features five programmable keys, a 40 character alphanumeric display, tri-color LED custom call alert and VOX. It also includes a contact list with the ability to store up to 1,000 records, radio-to-radio cloning, and basic privacy in digital mode.

VXD 720 Series digital radios can integrate text messaging with voice transmissions for faster communications and greater efficiency. With the VXD 720, you can send either free-form or pre-set text messages to other VXD 720 radios quickly and easily.

The VXD 720 is also rugged. The VXD-720 radio is dust and waterproof to IP57 specifications. It is also submersible to a depth of 3 feet for up to 30 minutes.

Includes one Vertex VXD Series UHF or VHF digital mobile two way radio, antenna, belt clip, AC charger, lithium-ion rechargeable battery, owner's manual and three year warranty.

The VXD digital radio series uses Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) protocol, making it compatible with other makes and models of DMR supported radios, including the popular MOTO TRBO series. The VXD Series radios are also compatible with any existing analog two-way radio for easy migration to new digital technology and provide maximum return on investment (ROI).

Vertex VXD digital radios use Time-Division Multiple-Access (TDMA) technology at 6.25 kHz with increased efficiency and doubles the capacity on one frequency, This allows you to have twice as many talk groups or calls with one frequency license.

Digital radio technology offers consistantly higher quality transmissions with greater clarity, less noise and greater range than analog transmissions. Vertex VXD Series radios use TDMA, which also cuts transmission time in half, reducing overall power consumption. This allows Vertex VXD Series radios to operate up to 40 percent longer than a typical analog radio, which increases battery life and saves you money!

Vertex VXD Series digital radios are FCC Narrowbanding Compliant. They meet the FCC Part 90 requirement for using 12.5 kHz channels by January 1, 2013. VXD radios enable users to keep existing 12.5 kHz channels and double the call capacity with the two-slot TDMA technology and meets the FCC recommendation to convert directly to 6.25 kHz for greater spectrum efficiency.
