The Baofeng BF-F8+ is a Dual Band UHF/VHF Amateur transceiver that is small, yet powerful! The BF-F8+ combines all the prime features of Baofeng's popular UV Series with an extra touch of class to bring you an added value radio without added cost.
The BF-F8+ features 128 programmable memory channels with frequency and channel scanning, dual watch, UHF/VHF Dual Standby, and 1750 Hz call tone. It also features Ani code, DTMF code, backlit keypad, Dual display switch, CTCSS/DCS codes and has a built-in 65-108Mhz commercial FM radio. The BF-F8 Plus supports 2.5/5/6.25/10/12.5/25kHz frequency step and supports VOX (Voice Operated Transmit) for hands-free operation. It also has a built-in LED flashlight.
The Baofeng BF F8+ has up to 5W of transmit power and the standard 1800mAh Li-Ion battery pack provides many hours of operation. The battery save feature helps conserve power until it is needed.
The Baofeng BF-F8+ comes with a rechargeable Li-Ion battery pack, belt clip, removable antenna, C-ring earpiece with in-line PTT microphone, drop-in battery charger, AC adapter, wrist strap, owner's manual and a one year manufacturer warranty.

inexpensive ticket to the ham game
great radio for the price, icom/yaseu/kenwood operators will laugh at you until you tell them how much you paid, then they will cry. Get the upgraded antenna, (included if you buy it here!) use the second party programming software, (factory software is as good as the owners manual - horrid!), download an understandable users manual and you are in business. This radio really is feature packed for its size and price. audio quality is good, flashlight is bright, hits any repeater in range and is programmable for FRS and GMRS Freqs! great little first timer radio, second radio, emergency back up radio. Heck, for the price, get TWO!
GREAT LITTLE RADIO
Great little radio for home personal use, work, camping or for ham radio, i use it a lot for public safey monitoring, and CB radio for AUS.. it has great features, a bunch of useful accessories, programming is a breeze with chirp, great price for what you get
I would buy this product again.
I use it for Ares Events. Easy to use. Like the additional FM feature.
Good Beginner Radio
This is a great little radio for someone getting into amateur radio. It feels good in your hand and is solidly built. Not impressed with the antenna that came with it.I was informed that the USB cable which would have made programming much easier was on back order and would not be available for several weeks. Luckily a fellow member of a ham club helped me program it.
I will buy equipment from Buy Two Way Radios again because:
I have purchased two Baofeng UV-5Rs and two BF-F8+ radios, which are very similar, internally. As an amateur radio operator, I use these radios with local 2-meter repeaters for emergency exercises. I love their ability to be programmed by computer (with CHIRP software) and quickly set all radios to the same settings. The UV-5R was my first radio, after getting my FCC license. This little handy-talky helped me get started in amateur radio (I built my first antennas, began participating in local 2-meter nets and talking on radio, and started learning about optimizing radio signal propagation). The BF-F8+ radios fit right in with what I already had and was used to using. The BF-F8+ can transmit with up to 5 watts of power. Finally, the price makes these little handy-talkies a great value, so that I can afford to put one in every bug-out-bag.
I won't be buying any more of these.
The first bff8+ radio I purchased a year ago programmed just fine. I bought two more based on my experience with the first one. These have been impossible to program, either by computer or manually. You can manually select a channel & use it fine. When it is turned off the radio reverts to the channels as programmed from the factory. The two newest radios both do this. Will be unloading these & buy no more.

In the short time I've had this radio I've used it for road communication, taking on repeaters and listening to police radio. Right out of the box it's ready to go, the menu is easy to use after some time. I use this radio primarily on GMRS frequencies since that's what most of the people around me have. With the stock antenna the range is great, but I picked up a 14in Retevis antenna and it's absolutely amazing, a perfect pair.
