Suitability of Midland MXT115 MicroMobile GMRS 2-Way Radio for use as GMRS Base Station to support Boy Scout Troop at 1-week Summer Camp?
    - I would like to temporarily transfer the MXT115 out of my truck for use as a temporary base station at our Boy Scout camp in the Appalachians
    - I would use it to talk with ~10'ish Scouts/adults using a variety of FRS/GMRS handhelds
    - Your recommended external battery configuration (and connectivity)?
    - Your recommended antenna configuration?
For example, I would like to ensure our Scouts low-power FRS/GMRS handhelds can reliably communicate (Tx & Rcv) with our base camp...up to 2'ish miles away in hilly wooded terrain. Toward that end, would it help (in both directions) to connect my MXT115 to a Midland MicroMobile MXTA11 6db Gain Antenna...and temporarily mount the antenna approx 12' high up a nearby tree at our campsite (hopefully at a campsite slightly higher than the surrounding terrain). Or would it be safer to mount & use the 6db gain antenna directly on my truck? (to minimize any unnecessary lightening risk)
    - Yes, I do have a GMRS license: WQXW905
