TYT Radio FCC ID and Type Acceptance Chart

TYT MD-380 DMR Digital Two Way RadioAs a result of the recent FCC enforcement advisory on import radios and the subsequent discussions on the topic in episodes TWRS-128 and TWRS-129 of The Two Way Radio Show Podcast, we checked the FCC IDs on all affected products in our warehouse to ensure full compliance. As a result, we posted our Wouxun Radio FCC ID and Type Acceptance Reference Chart to assure our Wouxun customers the products we sell meet FCC requirements. Since we are also an authorized US dealer for TYT, we decided to create one for TYT radios as well.

The following chart lists the TYT radios on our web site with FCC IDs and FCC type acceptance.

Some people are both HAM and GMRS licensed and may want to use one radio for both as long as the radio is Part 95 compliant as well. This would be a good reason to list if the radio is Part 95. This question brought me to your website and unfortunately I wasn't able to get an answer.

If any of the radios on this list were Part 95 certified, it would be listed as well, as it is for the models that are type accepted for 15 and Part 22. However, none of the TYT radios on this list are specifically FCC type accepted for Part 95. As a general rule, radios that are approved for Part 95 type acceptance are not allowed to be capable of transmitting on other bands and frequencies. As a dealer, we do not promote operation that violates FCC rules, so you will not find such a list on our web site.

Is the TYT TH-UV8000D FCC Part 90 certified? I only want to use it for emergency purposes on a boat if there was no cell service on a large lake. Thanks

I operate a few GMRS repeaters. The GMRS in California has become very busy due to the Fire situations here, and now Corona. Thanks for consolidating this list of Part 90 radios as we require this on our systems. I have referred people here already.

Would you have a list for Part 95 certification?

    • Rick

Hi Greg, we appreciate the feedback! Unlike some of the TYT and other import radios, all the GMRS radios we carry are Part 95 type accepted, so creating a chart wasn't necessary for those. The FCC ID is usually located under the Features tab for each GMRS radio listed on our site at Buy Two Way Radios.
