How to install and use the VGC VR-N7500 Android app

The VGC VR-N7500 is an exciting new mobile amateur radio with Bluetooth® connectivity for full control through its smartphone app. However, the app is currently not listed in the Google Play app store, so the initial setup can seem a little confusing. So, how do you find, install and use the VGC VR-N7500 Android app with your radio?

In this video, Danny from Buy Two Way Radios shows you how to install the app on your android smartphone and connect it to your VGC VR-N7500 mobile amateur radio.

Yes. When connected to the radio, go to the page where you can change the channels, click on the settings gear, and I think the first sub menu in the pack about mid screen will ask you which channel to send location over...I just set a channel memory to APRS and set that on ch16, and this accordingly. Make sure you enable "APRS format" in the general settings in the app. Gotta say, not the most user friendly app...seems a bit scatter brained but I got it working last night and confirmed via APRS.fi that the local digiprater picked me up and that it wasn't just the igate service.

For the igate code, there is a page or GitHub repo somewhere that I found that generated a code for my call, and it worked...I just don't recall where right now and don't have the time to look sadly.

Anybody get APRS messaging to work over RF? Seems to work when radio connected to phone connected to internet, but not when phone not connected to internet. What are the settings?
