I think that FRS is good where it is at. I think that GMRS licensee's should have access to the additional channels if the FCC adds those frequencies. I understand that it will step on some amateur toes. To me, having the ability to have vhf will help people that frequently off road. I know it is a use case scenario. I am not going to say that GMRS should be like armature radio that has a lot of different frequencies. I think that 1 set of frequencies in VHF and another (already set) frequencies in UHF. This can be the gateway for someone to get into amateur radio. I am only a GMRS licensee. I do plan to get a amateur license in the future. There are websites and or stores that help guide people and new license holders about the differences about the radios. I am learning new things about radio. Would be great about why lower frequency needs the extra watts compared to UHF. I had to google why and it makes sense. Keep it up guys! My thing is the extra channels for the license holders and more versatility. I know I sounded like an amateur license holder there.
