Two way radios are an essential tool in the operation of churches and synagogues. This is especially true in the area of security. They provide Instant communications between church officials and security staff for increased safety of those attending services, both without and inside the building. Radios allow churche security personnel to mobilize quickly while responding to accidents, disturbances, or emergency situations.

The type of radio needed will vary based on the use. A small, low powered radio may be sufficient for short range communicatons within a nave or assembly hall, or for outdoors in the church parking lot for directing traffic. but for communications within a larger church building a two or four watt radio is recommended. Some churches may have multiple buildingsin fairly close proximity to one another, which may be difficult for the signals of weaker radios to penetrate. Single channel radios are adequate for many situations, but multi-channel models may be helpful if you have several groups that need to have separate communications. Headsets or earpieces are often required, especially when in the assembly hall during services, with two wire surveillance style models being a popular option.
