MURS Radios

The Multi-Use Radio Service (MURS) permits the use of 5 specific VHF frequencies without a license requirement, provided that the radios tranmit at a maximum of two watts. These radios can provide coverage for a maximum of 5 miles outdoors (1.5 to 2.5 miles typical in urban conditions).
