New antenna
A good antenna is worth its weight in gold and this one proves it
Definitely extends range, but cumbersome
With the standard antenna that comes with the KG-935G-Plus radio (8 1/2 inches long), range line-0f-sight and loud-and-clear talk was 3 to 4 miles. With the Melowave Bandit-G GMRS handheld radio antenna (15 inch length) on both radios, it was 5 miles. Measurement was made using Google maps, satellite view.
The extra length is cumbersome for handling, but any bends you make can be re-straightened easily.
