Melowave Bandit-G vs. Nagoya NA-771G vs. Stock
Review by MPH-CA
I just received the Melowave Bandit G and tested it on my Wouxun KG-935G on Channel 7 with High power and again on Mid power. The other end is about 4 miles line-of-site using another KG-935G. Both radios were indoors.

Test: Both the Melowave and Nagoya worked well and are a little better than the stock antenna for cutouts. We both went outside and all 3 worked well with no cutouts.

Results: If looking to purchase a better-than-stock antenna, the Melowave would be my first choice. If you already have the Nagoya NA-771G, that's good enough. I'm keeping the Melowave and will donate the Nagoya to a friend. I hope this helps.

Definitely Improves

Thia antenna was a great buy, it definitely improves your radio's performance by a few dB. The longer length antenna can be a pain when carrying, but it's worth it.
Excellent extended range antenna
Review by DSHIDS
The Melowave Bandit-G is a better value than the Nagoya NA-771G in my opinion, and better quality if getting the sma female because of the metal Knurling at the base. I own 4 Nagoya’s NA-771G which two of them has stripped out at the base connector. The Melowave Bandit-G’s range is equal if not slightly better than the Nagoya 771G. Although the 771G is a good extended range antenna, the quality of Melowave is much better and performs equal if not better. I have bought 4 Melowave Bandit-G’s and I’m switching them out from the Nagoya’s.
Works!

Thinner diameter makes this antenna much more enjoyable to carry around or in your pack. I have a similar Diamond, comet and signal stick. It performs equally as well. I really appreciate that it’s tuned to GMRS specifically. Build quality appears to be on the money. My only concern is that they should provide an o-ring as it will not seat fully to a HA1G. A quick trip to the hardware store and .45 cents later that concern was corrected. Diamond and comet antennas do provide a rubber washer. Keeping my eye on this company as it appears that they are putting out some quality items. I wouldn't hesitate on buying another one. No review would be complete without thanking BTWR’s staff for fast shipping and being great folks to deal with.

Seems like a good antenna and has good pickup. Seems a little flimsy but other than that it's a really good antenna worth the money
Excellent Antenna

Was able to hit a repeater with the Bandit G, up on the mountain top at 2400 ft. forty miles away with no issues using my GMRS 9R on High Power.
Better than factory kg-935g Plus antenna
Review by DaveDubya
Based on practical distance test the NA-771g is a bit better than the factory antenna and surprisingly far less fragile than I suspected. Overall, I consider this an upgrade for both my Kg-935g Plus.

One concern: NA-771g is long, wire thin and hard to see at some angles making it an eye hazard. I plan to attach a small rubber or plastic ball to the antenna's tip to eliminate the hazard.
Good range. Quality built.

Pleased with the range. Plan to purchase at leas one more for our family radios.
SWRs 3.4
Review by TxTerp
My daily driver HT is a KG-935G with a Nagoya antenna . Anytime I get a new antenna the first thing I do is check the SWR with a Surecom meter. My Nagoya antenna runs 1.4. I switched it with this antenna and it was 3.4. it hears good but I won't transmit with it. Very disappointed. Maybe I can use it on a scanner when I get one.
