The 771G is much better than the stock antenna.

I would like to review my purchase but it’s still in the super black hole called the USPS. It’s been there since the first week of November. I’m certain the antennas will perform as advertised. BTWR has not disappointed with their products.

This is my second antenna purchased here. The first one was for a GM30. The second one is for a Yaesu FT65R which works very well for both GMRS and some HAM bands. I can reach repeaters over 10 miles away with full quieting reports from my backyard surrounded by trees. BTWR shipped fast.

I purchased two antennas, one for each of my GMRS radios. They work as expected. I can get many more FARS with my radios.

I put this antenna on my KG-905G and did a radio check on the repeater channel, and got a reply back, I could not reach the repeater with the stock antenna, the Repeater is 28 miles away as the crow flies, great antenna. and it's not overly long when on the radio

NA-771G is a great antenna option for my KG-S88G and KG-905G radios. This antenna significantly enhances range and clarity. Buy confidently!

I have 2 of these now since I thought my first was defective as it helped with my receive however my transmit was very choppy. People seem to rave about these but I have only found it to be marginally better than my rubber duck (OE) antenna.

I replaced my Wouxaon KG935G factory antennas with these. The factory antennas were suitable. However, the Nagoya NA-771Gs took the reception and transmission to the next level - I can talk to all family members (They have the Nagoya NA-771G on their respective W.Ts.) in the metropolitan area through a repeater 31 miles away. A great addition to the GMRS family.

I purchased the antenna to replace the stock antenna of my Baofeng UV-9G. Although, the circumference of the base of the antenna was almost too large to fit into the Baofeng HT, I was able to install it. There was an immediate, noticeable improvement in the clarity and range of my radio.

I'm not sure about the quality of the OEM antenna, but the new 771G now allows me to hit a repeater I couldn't before replacing it.

Pulls in signals where stock antenna couldn’t .

Ran some tests trying to reach certain repeaters in my area. It did outperform in most cases with one repeater it performed the same as the stock antenna. One thing I would say is while walking around and the antenna a bit whippy I noticed it could do a big fade on a signal while walking the trail. Standing still it’s a performer. Definitely a keeper but the original antenna is still pretty good. Handheld is a Radioddity 30.

I am so glad I got the 771g GMRS antenna. The stock antenna on my Baofeng UV-5R is very so so. It is almost like magic how well the 771g antenna performs. I would buy it again. BuyTwoWayRadios.com got it to me fast and were easy to work with.

I had no reception with the standard antenna on a Wouxun KG805G at about 5 miles with some hills in between. Swapped out with this antenna and crystal clear reception on both ends! Amazing antenna!

I get SWR of 1.1 on the antenna and immediately pulled in weak signals when I swapped this with the stock antenna. Only down side is that it is long.

I bought a ridiculously low cost handheld ham radio to replace my old walkie-talkie. I was so surprised to learn how much better it worked and how much cheaper it was compared to the old one. Then I got curious if it would perform better with a good antenna. So, I bought the Nagoya NA-771G antenna. I was pleased to learn how quickly the antenna was delivered and also very pleased to learn how much better my new handheld radio now performs. In summary, the antenna performs as well as promised and the store provides excellent service. I will definitely buy again from Buy Two Way Radios in the future.

Bought a couple radios to get into the GMRS game, relatively cheap, easy to program, etc. but the antennas, while decent, left a bit to be desired. I couldn't pick up any of the "local" repeaters (I'm in SW Parrish, FL) from inside my home.
Swapped out the OEM rubber ducky's for the Nagoyas and boom, picking up the Sarasota 650 with relative clarity. Now, I can't transmit to it from inside, but when I get up on the Ft. Hamer bridge I'm able to transmit with much better clarity than before. Well worth the $20/antenna. Haven't tested simplex range, but I'm sure that's significantly better overall too.

i purchased this antenna for my KG935G for when im on the trail and needed a lil more than the stock antenna could give. i was super surprised just how good the stock antenna did in the woods, but when it was time i switched to the Nagoya and hit the repeater like i remember Mike Schmidt hitting a home run as a kid, but then again isn't that why we by the 15"whips? This antenna works much better than the standard rubber duck that came with my HT. Also, it is quite durable as I accidentally smashed it in the door of my truck and it only got slightly bent. I straightened it and it works like nothing ever happened. Great HT antenna!

I have seen a small improvement in reception over the factory antenna, although I have yet to test its transmit range. I am an advocate of good equipment and this antenna looks and feels like a quality made unit.

These bring my KG-935g's radio alive. Increases range in dense woods over the rubber duck by about 36% in testing. And much better quality transmissions at the far end of the ranges. I also find it easier to walk around with than the rubber duck, super flexible and doesn't get in the way.

Great upgrade and increases your "fars" on the GMRS UV-5G. Discovered that not all Baofeng radios take female connector during this upgrade. You have a UV-5G or X, be sure to order the male connector. BTWR was helpful in getting the swap out done for the correct connector.

Added this antenna to my Wouxun KG-935G in the hopes of adding range. My furthest friend used to only be reachable when standing in a very particular place in my house while he stood in a very particular place in his. Now we can communicate easily almost anywhere on our properties. Well worth the price of admission, and fast, reliable shipping.

I installed this Nagoya GMRS antenna on my KG-805G and improved the SWR (using my Surecom S102S power and SWR meter) from 1.6 for the stock antenna to 1.01 with the Nagoya antenna. Haven't compared ranges but expect the higher gain and near-perfect SWR will improve the range. Increased length of the Nagoya is slightly less convenient.

Very impressed with this antennas, UV-5X takes SMA Male antenna, ordered a pair and they fit perfectly and tested in the city flat land with houses and trees. Getting about a mile, stock antenna didn't even get half a mile.

I mistakenly ordered the wrong gender connector on this antenna and thus haven't had the opportunity to use it, since I returned it for an exchange. However, I have 3 other HTs and have equipped them all with Nagoya antennae and they have all performed flawlessly. I expect this one will as well.

Great antenna, I can talk back to home base from 5 miles away and hit a repeater near Cleveland. Will buy another one for the other HT I have. Glad I took NotaRubicon's advice and got the Antenna from you guys, shipping was fast and I'm very pleased.

I used the 771G's on a couple of Baofeng UV-5X GMRS HT's. They are a significant improvement both transmitting and receiving compared to the stock rubber duckies. I recommend the Nagoya 771G antenna.

ordered 4 of these for the family's HTs, they work outstandingly! RX is much cleaner and we are able to get out further.

Definitely gets out, it does have a tendency if the radio is in my shirt pocket to kinda get in the way, ,that's expected, miner problem, i highly recommend it ,you get the most out of your radio.

I purchased this antenna to substitute for the stock antenna on my new Wouxun KG-UV9G Handie Talkie. The reception on this radio is excellent right out of the box. The Nagoya 771G antenna improves the reception quite a bit and allows for moderately better transmissions. All in all, for the price, I would recommend this antenna.

I have had good luck with my other Nagoya antennas and when I bought a new UV9G radio I thought I'd buy a 15 inch antenna for it. I was not disappointed it worked like a charm and I'm receiving and transmitting better and a little further than before. Good purchase.

I had many friends telling me that a Nagoya 771 was all you really needed for GMRS. I wanted to get that edge so I bought the 771G and found that it did have better performance for GMRS. I recommend not to be cheap and try to get by using an antenna made or 2 meter, drop a Jackson and get that extra oomph to push the signal out clearer.

I ordered a 771g for one of my 5 watt handhelds. After installing I checked the swr and power outlet. It 1.1 on the swr and an even 5 watts on power so I ordered 2 more for my other radio's.

I range tested the NA-771G vs the factory and my usual NA-771 dual band antenna mounted on a Baofeng BF-F8HP. Transmit and receive range and clarity were tested in heavily wooded forest with sharp hills and valleys separating me from my partner who was operating a stationary transceiver. On GMRS frequencies, the NA-771G offered no significant improvement over the factory or my NA-771 dual band antenna. I can not recommend the NA-771G over the factory antenna.

it has better performance than the stock antenna, but like I tell everyone that asks, be sure to check swr with a meter before transmitting. unlees you get this antenna from authorized dealer, you don't know if you are getting the real McCoy. BuyTwoWayRadios is the real deal.

Although these 771g antennas are vastly better than stock antennas, we performed a head-to-head test with this antenna vs a regular 771 on identical radios. For GMRS transmitting and receiving, it is simply the best antenna that you can purchase for everyday use. I would say that we experienced a 25-30% in both clarity and transmission and reception distance over the 771, which is already a huge jump from stock antennas. They really have this thing finely tuned for GMRS.

Bought two, but use the original for everyday usage. Hate the way this longer antenna gets in the way and constantly flexes as you walk, but love the performance. Most people will tell you this antenna improves the distance by 50%, both in TX and RX.
I believe their assessment to be true, but have not had the time to test the actual improvement. Just rest assured, it is an improvement. This review is a duplicate of my first purchase.

Nice to use when you are relatively stationary around camp for the extra range but i wouldnt want to use it while actively hiking. Make sure to pick the right gender for you radio...male or female...i guess BNC would be considered non binary.

On the specifications for the Wouxun KG-935G radio that I purchased at the same time as the NA-771G antenna, it says SMA Male (Standard). So thats what I thought I needed to order. Somehow I missed the fact that the SMA Male connector is actually IN THE RADIO itself! Rookie mistake I guess and I'm not blaming anyone but myself, but you would think that whoever packed the box with these two items would have said to themselves, "hey this SMA Male antenna is the wrong one for this radio, so maybe I'd better call this guy to make sure this is the one he really wants". So instead of sending it back on my dime and incurring a 'restocking' fee, I just bought an adapter. Antenna works fine but does not sit flush to the radio now, which isn't a big deal, just irritating.

They aren't kidding when they advise to pay a little for UPS. I was cheap and used the free USPS shipping. These guys are an hour & a half drive from me and it took the post office over a week to ship. At 8 days, I tried calling the post office they use and got no answer to repeated calls! Jus ring ring ring! Use UPS!

Worth the price and works much, much better then stock rubber duckies. My only gripe is whomever assembled the antenna into the plastic base did so crooked but it doesn't effect function at all.

I bought 4 of the 771-G's. All 4 tested almost the same as the 771. The latter set was 1.85:1 and 771-G's were 1.64-1.82:1. I tested them across the 462.550-462.725. Disappointed and going to return all 4 antenna

It clearly improved my signal reception. The price is good too, great value. But the antenna is a bit more flexible than I expected, nothing problematic, just a little more unwieldy when say, climbing up a windy hill. I hooked it to the side of my backpack and used an earbud-style headset with its own PTT button, worked like a charm with my wouxun 905g. This antenna is really worth it. I highly recommend it!

I am using this on my Wouxan 905G. Stock antenna got me about 6-7 miles here in eastern CO. Switched over to the 771 and had about 10-12 mile range. I am happy with it as much as I am happy with the radio. Great service as well from the company!

I have not had a chance to do a full review of the Nagoya 771G yet . So far it has done well with what distance I have tried . I think I was a mile from our home . The signal was loud and clear both RX/TX . That was with hill and trees between use.

First of all, I know there are a lot of people who sell this antenna, and I have seen reviews where the person bought it off another site and it was a FAKE.... I don't worry about that here, I know it is 100% authentic.... Now, on to the review. I installed this on my Wouxun 805G. Great Radio with a pretty good stock antenna. I have a couple of Repeaters near me, one at about 10 miles, the other at about 13 miles. With the stock antenna, I could almost always hit the 10 mile repeater, but hardly ever the 13 mile one. After I installed this antenna, I can hit Both repeaters almost 100% of the time. For the low cost, and efficiency of this Antenna, you just can't go wrong. I have previously used a Nagoya 771-G antenna successfully on my Radioddity GM-30. So when I bought a Wouxan 805g, I wanted to get another 771-G. The new one works well just like the previous one.

took forever to get it shipped. their 'in stock' status is bogus, unless they mean it ships slow boat from china.

I didn't even know Nagoya made a GMRS only antenna. Been using the 771C with decent success.
I saw these (I bought the short and long version) and had to try em out. SUPER GLAS I DID!!!!! I thought the receive on these was great and am now marveling over the performance in both simplex and duplex.
Did SWR tests with a VNA AND it was great and not just "Acceptable". If you have a handheld don't pass these up.

compaired between My two hand helds side by side this antenna left the stock one completely out of the race in all respects.

Picked up two of these for my 805Gs. Immediately noticed a difference in range. This is a good add for the Wouxan 805G and probably others.

The first one I purchased lasted a few seconds. BuyTwoWayRadios shipped a second and it was defective out of the box. Poor quality.

I wanted a longer antenna for my Radioddity GM-30 GMRS handheld radio (although the stock antenna works ok). The Nagoya NA-771G (SMA male) is an excellent replacement for the stock antenna. I recommend it.

My tests show a SWR of 1.9-2.1. I was expecting better, but it is far better than any other antenna I have for this band.

This antenna blows the stock one out of the water. I pick up way more traffic, and can reach 2 repeaters, depending where I am.

Got this antenna when i perchased a new hand held and good thing I did . The SWR On the factory origanl was a 3.4. My new Nagoya NA-771.G was consistante 1.1 and averaged 10 miles simplex.I live 23 miles from the repeater i use and connects without fail.
I plan to get another When they are back instock.

This antenna is a good one. I am using it on my Btech-V1. It has a much better SWR than the antenna that came with the V1.

I have been using this on a GMRS-V1. The SWR tested at 1.4. Performance wise it's great. It is long but I plan on purchasing one for each of our GMRS radios. If your wanting to maximize the reach of GMRS handhelds then this is the best antenna for it.

This 15 inch antenna is so good... people think I'm on a 20 watt mobile when in fact using a KG-805G at 5 watts. Reason for saying buy two is I got another 805G and now it is out of stock... Sad, can not reach repeater or G daughter.

With my base station going offshore to The horizon the antenna works right at 12 miles.. the stock antenna would get about eight.. tested with 5 watt.. using a 7db gain base station antenna about 32 ft high.. 50 w output.. the service was great as my antenna was lost in the mail.. along with my vote.. lol.. no problem with confirming the tracking number and finding it at the post office.. which was repetitiously sending it to the wrong address.. thanks for the good customer service guys..

Tested this antenna, the shorter NA-701G and the stock antenna on a Wouxun KG-805G. Simplex over ~3.5 mile distance with hilly terrain inbetween. The 771G had the best signal (~S8), not surprisingly. The 701G was a bit less strong and clear (~S6) and the signal from the stock antenna was scratchy and weaker (~S3). Not a scientific test by any means and it was expected that the taller, 1/2 wave antenna would perform best.

bought both the long and short 462 mghz antenna for five watt radios..increased the range and signal clarity also used a quarter wave counter poise with the short antenna...radios are used for sierra back packing and for vehicle communications

Cannot give a thorough review for this antenna at the present time because I have been unable to thoroughly test. On the surface it is a well made antenna. It does seem to have much better TX/RX functionality. Works far greater distances than the stock antenna. Going to put it through more testing and will report back. May purchase the smaller (8.6 inch) quarter wave Nagoya for another comparison.

This antenna will increase coverage with the Wouxun KG 850G. I can hit a repeater 12 miles away with it. Well worth the money.
