The Kenwood TK-3400U16P two way radio is an excellent business communication solution for construction, hospitality, facility management, manufacturing, warehousing, retail, and many other industries. The TK-3400-U16P offers 16 channels with 90 pre-stored UHF frequencies and 207 Quiet Talk codes (39 QT and 168 DQT). It's powered by a lithium-ion battery for up to 22 hours on a single full charge. the TK3400 has 2 watts of power to provide coverage for up to 250,000 square feet, 20 floors, or up to 6 miles of range.

The Kenwood ProTalk TK-3400 is a compact, yet durable business radio. It is IP54/55 water and dust resistant and compliant to Mil-STD C, D, E, F and G standards. Companies that need radios for warehouses and large construction projects or for small, light duty chores will find the small size and rugged durability of the TK-3400U16P an asset to their operations.

The TK3400U16P has all the standard Kenwood ProTalk features, including call alerts, channel scan, frequency scrambler, hands-free (VOX) capability, wireless cloning, and Kenwood's “Super Lock” mode, which prevents accidental channel change. Channel confirmation mode announces the channel table number, tone number, scrambler and VOX setting of the channel selected.

Using 5 days a week to communicate between the shop, yard and office. They work great and they even programmed to match the old radios.

Rating

We use this radio to communicate to each other all over the plant and they do a good job. The radio could use a longer reception range. The radios get damaged easily around moisture. We have over 100 radio's in a box because of corrosion issues.

Our surveying and engineering firm recently upgraded our two way radios to Kenwood's TK-3400U16P model. After 2 months of daily use in our surveying department at 7 to 10 hours a day, I can not report any cons of owning this radio. They are excellent radios (5 stars) for what we need them for. When it is time to replace our old Motorola radios will not hesitate to get another set. **Side note** To go with the radios we also purchased T-REIGN ProHolster Case, if your use of the radio will be around water or in the bush you may want to pick these up also. These holsters have kept our radios secure from being dropped and lost while surveying heavily wooded and brushy areas.

I have tried to use this onsite at music festivals and other events and they barely get reception once the other person is out of site (and i'm just talking a block or two in most cases). They've barely been used just because they get no reception.
