The Cobra HH-ROADTRIP CB radio is identical to the Cobra HH-38-WX-ST, except that it includes a magnetic vehicle antenna. This magnetic vehicle antenna improves the range of the radio and is the perfect addition if you are taking the radio in a vehicle, or if you switch vehicles often.

The Cobra HH-ROADTRIP is a handheld, portable CB radio from Cobra Electronics. A handheld CB combines the functionality of a CB radio with the portability of a two way radio! The HH-ROADTRIP even adds the NOAA weather channel support, making it a weather radio as well! This model also offers dual channel watch, full channel scan, instant access to channels 9 and 19, Cobra's SoundTracker system, and a full featured LCD display.

This model includes a detachable antenna for portability, but is compatible with long range or vehicle antennas from Cobra. It is equipped with a DC vehicle power cord, but can also operate on 9 AA batteries or a Cobra rechargeable battery pack.

Rating

A friend confirmed an output of 3 watts and excellent reception sensitivity. The range is all about the length of the antennae. I got about a 1 mile range with the magnetic hood top antenna. Therefore it is great in a convoy of Jeeps in the woods under 1 mile. But extremely convenient, can take off the short antenna, put both in the glovebox. Don't have to figure out where to mount a box or route any wiring.

Very clear. When traffic is backed up it's great to listen to the truckers as they discuss the details of what's going on. Local weather is a great plus as you tranve cross-country.

I have a couple of these radios and love them. I also have a couple of other brands but they are much heaver and do the same job. I use them in my work and have bought others for gifts.. Enjoy them, I do..easy to operate, light weight, good range..

This radio has a very short range, app 1/2 to 3/4 mile. tried it on a motorcyle with the 1500 tall antenna and could only communicate for app 1/4 mile. If a vehicle got between you and the vehicle ahead you lost all transmission. On the road you have a lot of squelch problems. WOuld not recomend. Would buy either a Midlands or Motorla hand held.
