  2. A Little Pricy review by Sara on 9/4/2014

Bought for use in a 200,000 sq ft. university recreational sports facility for daily operational use and communication. Was not a super durable product - one radio had a cracked screen right out of the packaging, and a few more had cracked screens within the first 1-2 months of use. They tend to scratch and mark up pretty easily as well, which is a huge downfall for the price you're paying. Some good to the product...the sound is clear and loud, the radios are lightweight and have a great battery life and store and charge easily/quickly. The multiple channels make them very nice and they are compatible with older model radios. Overall, it was the best radio I could find on the market for "Consumer Grade" radios - so unless you're willing to make the jump and investment into the "Business Grade" radios...these may be worth your while to check out.

  3. Reliability when needed review by bamboodurn on 4/11/2013

Each employee on the farm has a unit to communicate with the office and fellow workers. Great safety device, should one have an accident or snake bite medical help can be arranged promptly. Added bomus is to know where employees are located.

  4. Same Trouble review by Eight Hooter on 8/26/2012

In my earlier review (12/13/11), I was hoping the CXR925s would not have the problem experienced with the earlier model. But I eventually found them to be the same, going to Transmit on their own at just any time and freezing there (either in or out of Lock mode). When one unit does this, the other is of course in Receive the whole time. The only way to turn it off and get it back to normal for a while is to remove and replace the battery. Sometimes this works immediately; sometimes it takes overnight to work again. I sent them back for repair twice. In each case the radios came back quickly, but it was obvious nothing was fixed. Had they left the radios turned on, and just allowed them to sit on a table, they sooner or later would have seen one jump into Transmit. (Maybe they did but couldn't do anything about it - it appears this is an inherent shortcoming.) It is unfortunate, because otherwise they would be fine radios. Now I have to buy a third pair, of a different brand.

  5. it reaches only one mile review by raul on 12/27/2011

  6. Better this time? review by Eight Hooter on 12/12/2011

The LI7200s used Li batteries, which we prefer. They proved entirely effective in FRS operation over our 30 acres of very hilly wooded terrain. The only problem was durability. In less than two years, and in spite of good care, one started going into transmit mode on its own at any time and freezing there. Control could be regained only after battery removal. The CXR925 replacement model is essentially the same radio, using the same batteries. So far, it has performed as well as the LI7200s. Only time will tell if the quality problem has been addressed. There are smaller radios, but these fit hands made for cutting wood, and still fit in a buttoned shirt pocket with only the antenna protruding.

  7. Great Radios review by BoatingDave on 2/28/2011

Great Radio. Ignore the other posts about 35mile range. Of course you're not going to get that. Anyone who knows radios knows that these are going to be limited to a max of about 2 miles. (maybe 35 miles if you are on top of a mountain and have line of site to the other radio). I have the CXR900. These have tremendous battery life, good range. Durable.

  8. looks good sound aweful !!! review by crankypants on 11/18/2010

I was looking forward to using this product because I had used Cobra products in the past with great appreciation of their quality. This product did not live up to past experiences. Therefore I would NOT recommend anyone purchase this product... Very disappointed and now frustrated as to what I do with them....

  9. Main reason I ordered these radios review by Rod-D on 11/8/2010

These units have high capacity lithium-ion rechargeable batteries, hard to find on hand held-units. Batts last a long time between charges. Handy recharger stand. Use them to keep in touch with our maintenance staff. Have had them for a month & pleased with operation & sound quality.

  10. False advertising review by Nowah on 11/4/2010
    Rating

The claim of 35 mile transmission range is false. Even in the most ideal conditions (elevated positions across water, clear line of sight antenna to antenna) these radios are limited to a range of 2 mile, absolute maximum. Cobra and Buy Two Way Radios should immediately withdraw the claimed range of 35 mile of from their advertising and start being honest with their customers. This is false advertising!
