The Midland GXT-795 boasts an amazing 5 watts of power, allowing for a range of up to 36 miles in optimal conditions (typically 2 miles or less in urban conditions). The GXT-795 is designed with the hunter in mind, featuring a "Mossy Oak" camouflage and silent operation feature.

The GXT-795 is also a weather radio, supporting both the NOAA weather channels and NOAA weather alerts. If severe weather is entering your area, the GXT795VP4 can pro-actively alert you! Hands-free operation (with 5 levels of sensitivity) is supported by the GXT-795. Other features include a vibrating alert, water resistance, three power settings, and channel scan. This model also has 5 animal sound call alerts. An industry leading 3 year warranty is also provided by the manufacturer on this model.

The Midland GXT795 supports a total of 42 channels - 22 standard FRS/GMRS channels and 20 extra channels. Each standard channel supports 142 privacy codes.

tested good in city use around buildings and wires in and out of the car at around a mile. can't wait to try them in the open. the call sounds were silly but fun.

Units are used to guarantee, if separated from, my clients and me are able to remain in contact. Have been using Midland FRS/GMR units since their introduction. All have been entirely satisfactory, none as sophisticated, reliable or better suited for use in the outdoors. Would strongly recommend them to anyone in need of a similar unit. This unit is definitely the best ot the best.
