Take your digital two way communications almost anywhere outdoors with the TYT MD-390 Waterproof DMR Digital Portable Two Way Radio with GPS! The MD-390 GPS provides the same amazingly clear, full quieting digital voice communications as the TYT MD-380 without walloping your wallet, and adds an extra layer of dust and water protection to boot. The MD-390 with GPS operates in analog and digital modes on 400-480MHz frequencies (UHF model) or 136-174MHz VHF (VHF model) at up to 5 watts. It uses Time-Division Multiple-Access (TDMA) digital technology to double the number of users on a single 12.5kHz channel at either high or low power.
The MD 390 has 1000 channels, built-in CTCSS/DCS, channel scan, priority scan and a DTMF keypad to allow full access to its menu of powerful features. All of the standard calling features are built right in, including Private Call, Group Call and All Call for all the flexibility you expect from true digital radio. It also has lone worker mode, power save mode, low power alarm, and emergency alarm to give you have a feature packed portable that rivals comparable DMR radios at twice the price!
Let's not forget the display. It's there, too. The TYT MD-390 is equipped with a large, clear, color LCD display with text, graphics and text messages for a professional ambience that rivals many other digital handheld radios costing hundreds more!
Accessories are a no brainer. The TYT MD-390 uses a standard Kenwood 2-pin (K1) accessory connector, so you can use your existing MD-380 earbuds, headsets, speaker mics and other audio accessories from your existing MD-380 without getting all new gear.
The Tytera MD-390 GPS digital radio uses Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) Tier 2 Standard protocol. It is compatible with the popular MOTO TRBO series radios using standard encryption, as well as other makes and models of DMR supported radios. It is also compatible with any existing analog two-way radio operating on the supported UHF frequencies for easy migration to digital technology.
Includes one Tytera MD-390 digital mobile two way radio with GPS, one long antenna, one stubby antenna, belt clip, AC charger, 2200mAh lithium-ion rechargeable battery, owner's manual and one year manufacturer warranty.
Note: The MD-390 is dust and waterproof only when the accessory port is properly covered and sealed. The radio is not fully waterproof when a headset or other accessory is connected.

Have had this MD390 for a week and it’s been good. The cable that came with it works perfect with my windows 7. The display on this radio is not as nice as my Anytone 868 but for the price point with the IP67 ( Water Proof!!!) rating I’m not complaining. Feels rugged and looks like it would outlive my Anyone 868 in wet and rough environment. I got the VHF MD390 and I’ll be buying the MD390 UHF next. At this price point Especially with the IP67 rating NOTHING out there touches this radio.

All went well -- got it set up, and even purchased a raspberry PI and DVMEGA to put together a hot spot. Pushed my understanding envelope, but that's a good thing. Radio is definitely high quality with great audio

I opted for the MD-390 since we use DMR at work. The first day I used it two of us got soaked while repairing a pipe, mine still works and my coworkers $500 Vertex was ruined. Programming is easy, especially if one is used to Vertex and some Motorola programming software. The MD-380 tools will work on the MD-390.

The MD-390 has the programming interface built in the radio, the cable that comes with the rig is just a USB cable. I am able to program my 390 using Win 10. Surprisingly good receive and transmit audio. Yes there is a learning curve but that is just part of getting involved in a new technology, very much a part of amateur radio..

You need to be able to use PC programming when operating on DMR, and the supplied cable from TYT does not work at all on Windows 10, the chipset in the cable is not an authentic prolific chipset and there for will not work,
