Compact yet capable, the VX-820 is the smallest Vertex Standard radio currently available, yet it has enhanced features not found on other business radios in its size.

The VX 820 Series is available in 5W VHF and UHF models with a robust set of features such as a multiple scan options, a multi-color LED, 2-tone and 5-tone codes, radio-to-radio cloning, and ARTS™ - The Auto Range Transpond System from Vertex Standard. Yet these are all standard, with more powerful features added to each successive model.

The VX-821 has 32 channels, one group and 3 programmable keys. The VX-824 has 512 channels with 32 groups, an LCD display, and 7 programmable keys. The VX-829 is the top of the series with a full keypad and a total of 9 programmable keys. It's the same little radio, with a whole lot more.

Smaller doesn't mean weaker. The VX-820 series is built to take it tough. It meets the IP57 standards for dust and water protection and is submersible in 3 feet of water for up to 30 minutes. Intrinsically Safe versions are available that are SGS certified and meet Mil-STD-810-C, D, E, F and G.
