Built on ETSI-compliant TDMA digital technology, the MD-680D provides crisp digital voice communications, improved spectrum efficiency, and longer battery life than conventional analog radios. It also operates in analog mode, allowing seamless communication with existing analog equipment during system transitions. Selectable high and low power settings, with up to 9 watts of transmit power, let users maximize coverage or extend battery life as operating conditions require. The included 2200mAh lithium-ion battery provides up to 25 hours of operating time in digital mode, helping keep crews connected through an entire workday.

Support for 2-Tone and 5-Tone signaling further expands compatibility with commercial communications systems.
