Take CB communications off-road with the Uniden CMX760 Ultra Compact CB Radio! The CMX760 has all classic features professional drivers love packed into a mini mobile CB unit you can mount on an off-road vehicle and take anywhere off the beaten path.

The CMX760 has a full 4 watts of power and all 40 CB channels with instant access to emergency channels 9 and 19. It also has 7 NOAA weather channels and weather alerts to keep you informed of weather conditions while exploring off-road. It's designed for easy access while the main unit mounts out of the way. All of the controls and a 7-color LCD display are embedded into the built-in speaker microphone. The controls and display are backlit, so you can operate it day or night. It has 2 watts of audio output, so you can hear incoming transmissions loud and clear.

There's also an external audio jack in the rear of the unit, so you can use an external speaker if needed.

The CMX760 is also easy to mount. The detachable mounting bracket installs on or under your dash and allows you to quickly remove the radio from its bracket by simply sliding it out.

I have had this radio for over 3 years and it has worked very well, even though mounted on a Jeep, which offers less than ideal antenna mounting solutions. It transmits and receives well and others say the sound is clear. The only complaint I'd have is that the speaker in the mic is not quite as loud as I'd like it, at least for a noisy Jeep. But overall, it is a great radio and I've never had an issue with it.

This unit overheats while operating, it will freeze while keying up and lock in TX mode which means you have to hold the power button down to get it to shut off then try to boot it again. I was able to get the unit to just shy of 1.21 SWR and figured I was good to go. Well, took it out on the highway and keyed up, that's where it all went wrong. Started beeping and squealing like the mic is too close to the speaker unit and gives feedback. I tried the ANL with no luck then tried running in local mode and that's when it locked into the TX mode and started getting warm. I did manage to get a transmission out but the person said it had a strong electronic distortion and was not exactly "fun to listen to" on his end. Of course I tossed the packing and all cause I figured when the SWR was dialed in I would be all set. So that's my lesson learned.. Understand that this review is related to the radio in totality and in no way an indication of the fine folks here at buytwoway! It is not their fault the unit is just made poorly, and that I tossed the packing material and box. They did a great job getting the unit out to me and I couldn't be happier with the service from them. I just would strongly advise you avoid THIS radio, not the seller!
