Not the quality expected.
I purchased these radios because I have owned semilar Uniden models in the past. I finally lost or wore them out. They worked wonderfully and some lasted at least 10 years. I made this purchase based on past experience with the other radios and to use on a 4 day outdoor activity that needed good communications. Unfortunately, the radios were unusable due to the constant "squelch" roar. There is no squelch control (my other radios didn't have it either, but it never was a problem) and we could not find a channel or privacy setting that was not just roaring all the time (constant annoying static). Totally drove the users bonkers and to the point they just wouldn't attempt to use them. The "vox" microphone was insensitive. You had to speak really loud even on the most sensitive settings. I was very disapointed. If anyone has a solution or work around that will make them usable, I would appreciate it as it seems Iam stuck at this point with 8 unusable radios. If they had worked as my past experience I would have highly reccomended them, but under the circumstances I can't.

one of the two purchased squelch is too loose. Must program a private channel to stop
