Wouxun KG-1000G GMRS Base/Mobile Two Way Radio

I go this radio a few weeks ago to use in my vehicle. However I have reluctantly consign it to the base station role . The reson for this is simple, the scan function is absolutely useless.It will scan and will do scans on both areas at the same time, however if one of the freqs/channels you are scanning break squelch the scan will end, not pause, but end. You will need to manually restart the scan. This is not a good thing when driving, the scan should restart after a set period of time with no signal on the channel. My Midland MXT275 does exactly that. Also the WX function is nice to have but it would be even nicer if when there is a severe weather alert the radio will change to the WX freq so you can decide if you want to listen to the alert NOAA is broadcasting. It could save your life. Would I have bought the radio if I knew these things? Most likely, but I would have thought long and hard about it first.

As part of our emergency preparedness plan, our community set-up two KG 1000G's to work as a repeater for our community to use. I purchased this KG 1000G as a simplex back-up to use in case the repeater shed is damaged during a disaster (earthquake/forest fire). It works very well and the sound is crisp and clear. I am very happy with this product as well as the KG805G handheld units that we are encouraging the community to use during a disaster.

I previously was running a Midland MXT 500 and after watching multiple reviews, I made the jump. Couldn’t be happy. A lot of features and this radio just makes GMRS much more enjoyable. Highly recommend

To use the KG 1000 G as a repeater is “Mumpits”.
I am so disappointed about the repeater function. I jumped through all the hoops, buying a duplex, for over 100 bucks tada tada tada… but it does not do the trick to my satisfaction.
Save your money and don’t buy another KG 1000 G & duplexer.

These radios have an excellent feature set and stand head and shoulders above competitor radios. However, be prepared to be disappointed in their power output. I bought two and they both topped out at 39 watts on high power. This was measured using a PM-120W Digital VHF UHF 125-525Mhz Power SWR Meter and Frequency Counter into a dummy load. So if the 50 watt output is important to you, look elsewhere.

Bought 2 for a repeater. Good radios so far. Software suxs. Needs help bigtime. No import functions. Should just make a driver to work with Cirp. For the price it should come with a programming cable. I have 4 $40 radios and one $120 and they all came with a cable. No issues at all with buy two way radios. HELLO #Notarubicon ! His videos are the reason I purchased these radios and the reason I knew about buy two way radios

I love my KG 1000G, it's a great radio.. I love the features of this radio. First thing I noticed was how Well Built this radio is. It FEELS very Professional. The ONLY lil Gripe I have with this unit, is that I wish there was a way too DIM the Display. When using this radio at night, dare I say, that it's Almost' Too Bright.. It would have been super cool, IF they implemented a LOW and HIGH setting for the brightness on the Display. Other than that, it's an Awesome radio! I'm very pleased with it's performance..

We have purchased 5 of these k1000's, and there has been to many strange issues with these. The last issue was a broken power plug on my radio that we received, others had power issues. Even though towayradios took care of the issues and they warranty their products its costly to send these back to replace. We have shipped back almost every one of these radios, that cost us money in shipping. Hopefully this latest one will not give us trouble.

Been interested in building a GMRS repeater for quite some time. Being able to program two of these to be a repeater using their built-in software and the included data cable was the push I needed to buy two. Using the mics to set up the repeater is pretty easy, but I recommend buying the RPS-KG1000G programming cable, too. I've also used the radios individually, and am pleased with their performance.

Radios can be confusing to program from the unit. I didn't get the cable with my initial order. Big mistake. However, the book was very clearly laid out and walked me programming the repeaters in my area by using the mic. The programming cable is on the way because you can do more customization through the software. If you need a reliable base station or mobile unit grab this affordable radio. If you have any questions you'll have outstanding support from the BTWR team.

I received the radio quicker than I expected, I had it installed within a week, and it exceeds my expectations. The manual is well written. The customer service, which I called prior to ordering the radio and several times afterwards is all that the other reviews indicate - EXCELLENT.

This is an outstanding radio and a super value. It is very well built and high quality. It is a very strong performer and has a load of features. It is easily programmed with an optional cable. This is an excellent radio and an outstanding value.

Had some questions before I purchased and the customer service team was a huge help. After placing my order it was shipped very quickly and arrived within just a few days. Very happy with this purchase and can't wait to really put this radio to use.

First let me say that the radio appears too be well built and sturdy. It works quite well. The only minor improvements that I would like to see made are as follows:
I never listen to two frequencies at the same time, I find it to confusing. When you sync both radios so that only one channel is in use, I wish that instead of showing "KG1000" on the side of the display where the second channel would be, that the information for the channel in use could be expanded and made larger covering both sides.
The only other thing that I think would be helpful is an SWR meter on the display so that you can tell when there is a poor match with your antenna.

The KG1000G GMRS transceiver was purchased about two weeks ago. Packaging and instructions are excellent. I programmed the radio with RTS software. Shipping and tracking were top notch.
The current antenna is a Sirio CX455 base antenna due to our HOA however with 4.15 dB gain nearby repeaters and nodes should not be a challenge.

This a well built radio which is a welcomed addition to my ham shack HF and dual band Yaesu radios.

This radio has impressive capabilities and features. However, the engineers who designed it knew little about ergonomics or common needed radio operations on the radio front. Other than the 2 volume controls, if you want to do anything else, you must deal with the menu buttons, or figure out all the microphone buttons. I suppose if you used this radio a lot, you would learn to hit all those buttons quickly.

I purchased this radio for my up coming roadtrip in my 392XR. The radio works great but more importantly I was very impressed by the customer service before and after the purchase.

Really nice radio. Installed in truck along with Laird 1/2 wave antenna. I am able to hit repeaters from a long distance (100 + miles when conditions are right). RX is excellent on this radio.

I like the radio very much! Love the duel side by side display for two channels. I just got it tuned to my car antenna and on channel 1 I got the SWR down to 1.0 as I go up to channel 22 is going up to 1.3 going to have to mess with it a little more and see if I can get it any better. So far so good! If you’re going to buy a 50 watt gmrs mobile radio this is the one to get!

I've been a GMRS licensee for awhile now and have been a fan of buytwowayradios for a long time. This by far the best mobile radio I've owned. Clean programing, lots O power and easy to program from mic. Make sure to buy a good antenna and feed line, if anything I have learned is it requires a "system" to perform, one bad link in the system will make for a bad experience. Haven’t installed radio yet but it has all kind of features. Especially in being able to hide the radio and install the faceplate in a convenient place.

Purchased my first KG-1000 last August 21. It has been a great radio, Now I own 2 , plus 2 KG-935s. All of them are great!. Easy to program on the fly, good volume, I just wish they had iMac programing. We are preparing to use them during this years Hurricane season. What else can I say, everyone has said how great they are.

Of the three 50 watt GMRS radios offered today, the Wouxun KG-1000G is by far the best unit out there. The one made by that M" company cannot be properly configured for CTCSS and DTS tones in order to make them repeater capable.

THIS radio does it all and I'm happy with it.

Installed this radio in my wrangler. I paired it with the wouxun antenna and base and it works flawless. I really love the quality and feel this unit has. Customer service at buy two way radios is top notch. I will be using them for all my needs. Radio was out of stock but I prepaid and unit was shipped when they had inventory. I only waited a few weeks and I feel the wait was worth the quality in this GMRS radio.

My 2nd radio I have bought, one is the the house and the 2nd is in my truck, for shtf or events can hook up the duplexer also.

Item was on backorder when I ordered it, showed up less than 2 weeks later. Program software downloaded from from Buy Two Way Radios worked great. Love the remote mount face option on this radio and could not be more pleased with the performance.

I own 4 Wouxun radios, both Amateur and GMRS. So when I decided to get a quality mobile GMRS I naturally went to Wouxun. I bought the KG-1000G mainly because of the reviews and recommendation fro Randy at NOTARUBICON YouTube channel fame. This radio like all other Wouxuns actually puts out almost exactly what they claim. My suggestion is go ahead and buy the best now and don't waste your money on the cheaper radios. The customer service at BTWR is the best I've ever dealt with.

This radio has exceeded my expectations. Output is 50+ watts and I love the frequency range it can receive which is not advertised that I saw. Would buy again (and may soon.) Use this in conjunction with a good base antenna and your range will be farther than you would expect.

These radios offer a great way to travel the road of GMRS. Ease of operation, visually pleasant and well instructed through an easy to read manual, opens the doors to a highly functional radio and a great experience.

The KG-1000G is about as good as it gets in the GMRS hobby. The radio sounds great both in and out of repeaters. Heads above the cheaper radios for sure. It should be for it price, but it doesn’t disappoint.

I own 8 GMRS radios and they are all fairly good but this one rocks ! It peaked at 48.8w. This is a feature-packed radio and the coolest feature is the detachable face plate which can be relocated more than 10 feet away. I love this radio and I will get more. It is a little pricey but well worth it. I have always had good service from Buy Two Way Radios !

I have 2 license one for Ham extra and the other for gmrs. On the gmrs side I have a lot of radios but still had some problems getting into the repeaters unless I was closer so I looked at this radio and brought it,this turned out to be one of the best radio for gmrs system plus I could always use them for repeaters them self you see I like it so much I got another for the mobile unit ,buy one you will not regret it once you use it. If you don't you will keep throwing your money away for ones that don't work the way you want. You can always turn it over to the Ham side (73) My gmrs brothers and sisters.

It's a real good moblie radio for a base station unit.

The programming cable (PC003) was out of stock when I ordered the KG-1000G but I was able to find another source for the cable. I downloaded the software and when the radio arrived I already had a program ready to load. Great radio and has given me many hours of entertainment. It's really amazing how far I can reach on repeater channels. The more I learn about GMRS the more addictive it becomes. I have to give a shout out to Randy @ NotaRubicon Productions for his excellent review of this product, it definitely sold me.

This radio does so much, it is like 5 radios in one. It monitors two gmrs frequencies at once. I no longer need to run two gmrs radios.
It has weather radio, am, fm, and scan several bands for listening virtually functioning as a scanner.
The radio transmits and receives with stronger signals on my same antenna...better than my Midland MXT400 (40W). I especially noticed the better receive signal. Buy it before they run out again!

very easy to use and easy to install.,and manual easy to read.

Due to own mistake I thought the radio wasn't working when I received it. Made contact with support and they immediately set things up to return the radio. In getting the radio ready to ship back I discovered my mistaken connections and when I fixed that the radio worked great. Went on to mount in my Bronco (under the drivers seat) mounted the antenna in the back and was able to test. When I drove out I kept in constant contact with my base radio and was able to keep up talking way past the mountain I thought would block the signal. Total distance was close to ten miles with very large hills between me and the base unit. Great radio and thanks to the return folks at support for being quick to respond.

Ok, I am relatively new to GMRS and already had several hand-held radios, and wanted a mobile radio to use with them.

This radio is a BEAST! Fantastic range and clarity as my mobile, paired with a Midland MXT26A antenna. Easily hits a repeater 49 miles away with intervening terrain.

This radio is so versatile. I has many desireable features, the ability to remote mount the chassis and support several radio bands all for an excellent price.

I bought this for a mobile, but thinking of using it for a base station,.either way it is a great radio.

Hope I’ve got the right number of stars on this one. I have two. LOVE this unit! Hits all the repeaters at a further distance than the 20 watt mobile Wouxan is purchased. I installed the first one in the car, then made it into my home base. Bought a second after the 20 watt Wouxan mobile didn’t quite cut the muster.

Great unit. Many in my GMRS group have one and love it as well.

Second purchase. Works really well. Can hit repeaters miles further away than 20 watt radios.

Just received the 1000G a couple days ago. Easy to set up and program! Puts out a steady 47 watts which is great for a radio rated at 50 watts. Just ordered as second one a few minutes ago! YeeHaaw!

The Wouxun KG1000g is a great radio. Good features, easy to program from the front. I also got the programming cable and software and it's very easy.

I have bought 2 radios and various accessories from Buytwowayradios.com and their service is great. I had an issue with one order and when i reported it they immediately called me and resolved it.

Nice rig. Construction seems solid, not cheap. feature packed.. Receive sounds great and more sensitive than previous brand. Comes with all hardware. Recommend RTsystems programming software and cable. Con - Tilt faceplate only allows uptilt, No provision for down tilt

This was a warranty replacement for one that went bad. Seems to work really well though I only get 40 watts out of it. That's ok though, it's plenty of power for a uhf mobile unit. Signal is strong and clear. I won't miss the 10 watts.

This is by far a beautiful rugged mobil GMRS radio. It totally out performs all other mobil GMRS

I will be purchasing a second radio to use as a base station.

I love this radio, works well, although mine puts out a little less than adv, around 42-45 watts, other wise super easy to use, sounds great, and the ability to mount the head separate from the body is brilliant. Mine is mounted in my Jeep, a vehicle without a lot of mounting options for a mobile radio, so the main radio body is mounted under the driver's seat and the head display unit is mounted on the passenger grab bar with a couple of articulating arms, the mike/speaker hangs from either the dash or freedom panel ceiling, it all works out perfectly. Even in the loud jeep environment the sound comes loud and clear.
Also I must admit I had some issue with the first radio I got, BTWR could not have been more friendly and professional in helping me out with a replacement .radio, as soon as humanly possible.
Very Happy and highly recommend both the radio and BTWR.

They said there was a waiting list so I jumped on the band wagon and paid for it and got on the waiting list. It only took a couple of weeks to get it. But let me tell you it was worth the wait. I love this radio. It's strong and the sound is crisp well worth every penny.

Very easy to set up as a repeater and to install both as the repeater and as mobiles.

Was easy to program and install. Range is better then I thought it would be.

In the user manual page 22 it says three color selectable back light , there’s no setting in the menu functions for this and neither on the software , page 53-54 has 3 settings for the status indicator light , so what does this three color selectable back light mean I can’t find it anywhere on the radio settings . Can anyone answer me this question please .

Comparing other similar mobile radios, this has been priced way too high.

The 1000G’s ability to mount the display separately from the main chassis is tremendous! Clear, easy to read display. The three programmable buttons are very convenient and easily accessed. I’m still learning how to use all the potential of this unit.

The 4-star rating is due to two things: (1) the speakers are quieter than I’d like even with all three turned all the way up. I mounted the main chassis on the passenger side of the center console and the handset on the opposite side a few inches above knee-level. When driving, I can tell somebody is talking, but unless I hold the handset’s speaker near my ear I can’t understand what’s being said (I do have it set up to play audio over all speakers). (2) The power output I measured is shy of advertised power. I measured 36-40 watts in my testing on several channels, which is way below the advertised 50 watts. That’s still a solid amount of power, but 72-80% of advertised output was disappointing.

Finally, a huge shout out to BTWR’s customer service! I had some dead pixels on my display. BTWR had a replacement display in my hands three days later. Through placing several orders and the display issue, I always spoke to friendly, helpful, cheerful people every time. Great company!

I purchased this radio to put in my car. The installation and setup was simple. the sound quality is great and I was easily hitting repeaters 40 miles away. IF you want a good mobile/base GMRS radio this is the right choice.

It's the only GMRS mobile around currently that is an actual radio. The KG-1000G is of superheterodyne construction and 50 watts. Almost everything else in the GMRS space is ROC (Radio On Chip) construction and typically around 20 watts or so. And most of those are just unmitigated junk. You get what you pay for.
There is nothing else currently on the market in this league.

I will have to admit I did not know what to expect not having owned a Wouxun radio before but all the reviews on Youtube were correct. Easy to set up and easy to use. The price you pay is approaching Amateur radio level for this particular radio but well worth it in this case.

If it weren’t for him, I’m afraid my lack of wiring skills would have probably short circuited the car from the skimpy diagram and lack of instructions.

Otherwise, a great product. And even a better company for purchasing products. I’ll definitely buying from here again if i ever need a new radio. Far better than Amazon!!!!!

I added this unit to my KG-UV980P that I use with my Ham license, giving me two solid base units that utilized small, covertly installed exterior antennas at my home in Colorado. With our elevation changes & mountains, I can easily hit repeaters that provide comms to the majority of the Colorado Front Range. We just recently gained access to the Southwest Community Radio System that supports Arizona and New Mexico. Really enjoy Amateur Radio with both the Wouxun GMRS and Ham equipment. I also have the KG-UV9G Pro & KG-UV9P HT's for mobile and portable usage.

Very well built radio. Has the quality of Yaesu and Icom. Packed with features. The only disappointment is, no repeaters in my area. But this form of communication is catching on fast and replacing CB .

Just got 2 KG 1000 G radios hooked up as my base and so far so good. Have to see what the range is so 5 miles is the farthest But was the second person to use it . Like them very much will write anothet after I get the mobiles installed right now it's to hot 107 today.

I'm new to GMRS & wanted a solidly built high power radio to use as a mobile unit in our expedition truck. The 1000G seems perfect for us. The relocatable front display fits perfectly below our mapping tablet on a swivel base so either the driver or navigator can access the controls and see the display clearly. Transmission and reception are wonderfully clear.
Initially we had some kinks to workout with an apparently faulty RJ-45 connector in the display. But BTWR immediately sent us a replacement display that works flawlessly.
I would, and have, recommend this radio to anyone looking for a mobile GMRS radio.

Works well. I like the fact that I can program as many channels I need with the same frequencies and different CTCSS and DCS codes so I can access different repeaters across a large region.

The display is easy to read, and being able to switch easily between the two channels (A and B) on the display is convenient when you want to take the conversation to a simplex channel and not tie-up the repeater for others.

The description is not quite accurate. It is NOT "...fully compatible with all 22 channel FRS, GMRS, or FRS/GMRS combo radios". Specifically, it cannot transmit on the FRS channels. When I selected and purchased this radio, I had hoped for full compatibility.

Aside from that (a big deficit for my intended purpose) it is a great radio with lots of features.

I only have one good out of the four I've had low audio problems and power issues . Local repeater works well with a 2 what HT. The kg 1000 drops the repeater up to eight times within 30 second key up. With noise transmitted. I just can't recommend it it has good features but it has to work properly

Needs a swr meter. so amateurs don’t blow up the radio. Also add voltage protection for high and low voltages. This would make the radio even greater. As far as I know this does not come with the radio. Other than that is one hell of a radio.

I waited to right this review for a few weeks until I had time with the radio I think is one of the most solid and full featured GMRS radios made. Hats off!!!

Very happy with the Wouxun KG 1000G radios. Works beautiful as a repeater. I am very pleased with it. These radios are highly recommeded for GMRS users.

Right now this is probably the best mobile/base available 999 channels in a Part 95e certified radio. Those channels can only be programmed to transmit on GMRS frequencies (excluding low power FRS channels), as they should be. The channels can also be programmed for a variety of VHF/UHF channels in receive mode and you can set up scanning.

The dual receive capability allows you to park one side on your primary channel and scan with the other side (or you can both sides independently scanning).

I have had a Wouxun handheld for 1.25 meter band (222-225 mhz) for years and it has been solid.

This radio comes with several mount options, has an easy to read and understand manual which is a nice surprise coming from a Chinese company.
So far, the quality and design are excellent. I choose to mount the radio inside on the driver's side lower fire wall and the control head on the center dashboard tray of my Jeep JK. The sound from the speaker on the radio mounted on the inside firewall is excellent!
The angled display mount worked perfectly for my selected location.
One recommendation, should the designers be reading this, is to have a connection on the back of the control head for a microphone extension cable, giving better microphone location options.

Overall this radio is Awesome. Good quality construction, functions well and has a strong power output. The versatility is nice. The only negative factor i can say is it doesn't have an easy way to save channels and it has no backlight option. Mine is mounted under my dash cluster and is pretty bright at night. A disable backlight would have made it perfect.

This is my second 1000G and it runs like a top. I will be purchasing 2 more in the future for my vehicles and to set up a repeater at home. Seller does not answer emails and questions , but the rest of the experience was top notch

I've order two of these radios. I'm waiting on the second one.

The reason I picked it was the ease of setting it up as a repeater. I'm going to put them both in a 40mm ammo can with a duplexer--I'm still waiting on--as a portable repeater setup for events.

I love this radio. It is easy to program. I use RT Systems for this radio. It's easy to program frequencies with names and codes and also the buttons. Right now, I'm using the radio on base, but may transfer it to my car, especially since it comes with a separation kit for the head.

We bought two to serve as a repeater in Dubuque IA.
Started testing last night (2/27/2021) with one ofbthem simplex with a temporary 1.5db gain j-pole and were quite pleased.
Dubuque is hilly and filled with limestone bluffs, but our initial tests are very favorable. Quite happy with the power, features, and especially with the impressive reception.

First test was on the bench using simplex to my Jeep and it performed good. Next today was the repeater test and it passed with flying colors. re[eater 1 was 56 air miles away, had a nice conversation and then went to a local low power repeater that I before could barely hear and not a problem. Next test 5 miles to the airport worked fine. Like the dual scan.

Have this one set up in the home office as a base station. Lets me listen and talk on a repeater 16 miles away on one side while still listening ( no transmit) to several local Ham repeaters. This was very helpful in getting real-time updates during our recent weather event here in S. Texas. And BTWR gets 5 start also for customer service and support!!!! I called and actually talked to a real person without any crazy secret code followed by #.

Currently the dedicated GMRS mobile unit offerings is slim. There's only one radio that even comes close, B something :) Read the reviews on that one it's FAR behind this one in every aspect! This radio is clear/ unmatched receive and doesn't go up in flames. It's flexibility in programming makes it the go to radio over my Midland mobiles. The mounting flexibility too! Wouxun is not fooling around when it comes to GMRS. It may cost a little more but you'll be getting ALOT more! It's worth the wait. I'm waiting on my 2nd unit now! Might do that linking as a repeater you can do with these. Who else makes that so easy? There's more reasons to add this to your cart. But there's only so much room on a review.

I really like this radio. As a retired TeleCom Manager for a Statewide CA LawEnforcement agency I am used to dealing with high end radios. These radios are very similar in construction quality as the best. I have 2 bones to pick with it though, and this is why only 4 stars. 1: The programming cable does not ship with the radio, it must be ordered seperate (something I did not know, and hence I am still waiting for the programming cable to complete my programming of the radio.) 2: Programming manually through the Microphone keypad, is confusing due to the poorly laid out menu, and selections are difficult to sort thru and decide on before the menu times out and returns to the main screen. Otherwise this radio would have 5 stars in my book. Will I purchase another, YES most diffinetely. Will I purchase it from "Buy Twoway Radios"? Yes I will, it was shipped fast and was well packaged. The process was quite easy. Just remember to order the programming cable when you order the radio.

The good: Is actually quite compact for 50 watts. The only pro grade game in town. Dual radios built in one unit. SPLIT PL capability! Multiple channels use the same frequency but you can name the channel with a new PL as it's own channel!
The bad: The mic feels a little plasticky at this price point. The radio does not have a wire for ignition turn off. It does have an auto low voltage turn off feature but I'd rather it be off when I turn the key immediately.
The ugly: Its constantly on backorder and in high demand!!

I'm new to radio, but I know a powerful device when I see it. Sturdy AF, and even has a fan to help keep it cool.

Wouxun is making good stuff. Try their 805g Handheld.

After doing my research and choosing to purchase this radio from two way radios, I could not be more pleased! Very happy with my KG-1000G. Appears to be a solid rig and well-constructed. Feature set is robust with programmable settings and options available via the mic and front panel keys. The ability to monitor 2m Ham frequencies and NOAA weather channels is welcome for emcomm use. Well done! Setup was easy and programming via the Commander app straightforward. Using it as a base station and plan to get another KG-1000G to function as an emergency backup repeater for our GMRS emcomm network. One small nit; even with the volume set to 1 it's still a bit too loud. Will try an external speaker to see if that helps.

I am used to working with commercial Kenwood units used on trunking systems. The KG-1000 I believe is of equal quality. Very heavy built. For the GMRS novice being able to program your unit to your liking is enjoyable. There is some learning you will have to do, but actually turned out to be fun to learn to program form the computer and down load to the radio. You can quickly make changes as needed. I had a couple of questions in the process and the Techs at Buy Two Way were outstanding. and had me up and running in short order. They are outstanding! I just ordered another KG-1000 and will be able to download radio "1's" program to it. What a time savings!

This radio is loaded with features. I mounted this in my van and used the relocatable front panel to get just the right angle to operate the radio while driving. Having two receivers is handy for scanning channels while monitoring a repeater.
The reception is clear and the transmission power lets me raise far away repeaters.

I wasn't sure what to expect with the KG-1000G based on how new it was, but it seemed to be getting lots of hype. I was sick of the cheap Baofeng starter GMRS radios I bought, so I took a chance on the Wouxun. Boy am I glad I did, this radio is absolutely awesome and blows my BTECH GMRS 50x1 out of the water. The signal strength allows me to to reach a small 10watt repeater two towns away that I couldn't reach before and the reception quality is equally as impressive. My favorite part of this radio is the dual display that allows you to scan the two banks with different scan groups. I set the A side to monitor local police & fire frequencies and set the B side to scan my local repeaters. What's even cooler is the ability to adjust the volume of both banks independently of each other and still transmit on one of the banks while monitoring the other. I haven't noticed nearly any RF interference like the Baofengs have either. So yeah, I highly recommend the Wouxun KG-1000G. I'm even considering buying a second one, so I have a base and mobile rigs.
