Designed for the serious power user, the KG-945G gives you a GMRS experience that goes to the ultimate, and beyond!
The KG-945G transmits on all 15 high powered GMRS simplex channels, 8 low powered simplex channels and all 8 GMRS repeater channels at up to 5.5 watts of power, with no special programming needed. It has dual receive capability on both UHF and VHF bands, a built-in NOAA weather Mode with improved weather alerts, plus the ability to check for alerts in both standby and scan modes and 5 weather alert notifications!
The KG-945G has 999 custom programmable channels with standard and non-standard CTCSS tones and DCS codes to eliminate unwanted interference. It also supports split tones and CTCSS/DCS tone scan! The KG-945G makes it easy to find and configure tones and codes to match existing radios in your group.
Of course, there are the standard features found on other premium Wouxun radios, such as Priority Channel Scan, Group Scan, channel and frequency modes, and VOX. All of the advanced features such as Busy Channel Lockout, three selectable power levels, selectable wide and narrow bandwidth, group call, all call, selective calling, English voice prompts, programmable function keys, an FM radio mode and a built-in stopwatch are all included with the KG-945G. Want more features? How about Favorite Channels, a customizable Area Message, improved text entry via the keypad and PF Key Quick Guide so you can view a list of all the active PF key assignments at a glance.
The KG-945G also has a large, full color dual channel display that accommodate one or both A and B areas of the radio, as well as channel names, numbers or frequencies, plus incoming caller ID. It has four display color themes, plus 6 additional themes for even more customization, for a total of 10 themes!
In addition to the advanced display, the KG-945G features a full DTMF backlit keypad, a two color TX and RX LED indicator and two programmable side keys, plus a louder speaker, a brighter built-in flashlight and a BRIGHT+ PF key option to quickly increase the active display brightness.

The KG 945G is rated IP67 for dust and water protection, which means it can take most outdoor elements with ease! Yes. This radio is fully compatible with all 22 channel FRS, GMRS, or FRS/GMRS combo radios.

While this radio is easy to use and is compatible with other FRS and GMRS radios, it was designed with power users in mind. It is
more durable, is higher wattage, is equipped with a more powerful battery and has better audio quality than typical consumer radios. It is also IP67 dust and waterproof. It is submersible in up to one meter of water for as long as 30 minutes when properly sealed. Basically, it is built like a business radio.
It also has advanced features that would usually appeal more to "power users," such as repeater support,
the revolutionary new Channel Wizard, and the ability to use PC programming software to customize the channels list.
Yes, if you use the programming software (available from the Downloads tab). The KG-945G supports up to 999 custom channels, and with the Channel Wizard or the software you can add new channels or even remove standard ones. The CTCSS/DCS tones can be customized for each channel and can be different for transmit and receive.
Extra channels are useful for many reasons. If you access different repeaters that use the same frequency but different tones, it's more convenient to add each combination to its own channel instead of changing tones through the menu. Channels can also be given friendly names instead of a simple number, and the default channel names can be customized.

The KG-945G is designed for maximum cross-compatibility with other Wouxun branded GMRS radios. Although It uses a different battery and charger than the original KG-935G and the KG-935G Plus, many other replacement accessories are the same, and there are multiple antenna options available. It also uses the same 2-pin Kenwood style (K1) audio connector found on many other radios, so headsets, speaker mics and other audio accessories are no problem at all. If you already have a Wouxun radio and want to add the KG-945G to your GMRS operations, you're all set for audio accessories.
Yes. Even though this radio is fully compatible with license free FRS radios, it has several features that make it fall under
the GMRS service and not FRS. Some of these features are: 5 watts of power (FRS limit is 2), removable antenna (FRS must be fixed),
