The KG-UV7D features 199 programmable memory channels with CTCSS and DSC Scan, priority channel scanning, and 1750 Hz burst tone. It's bandwidth selectable, allowing you to select wide or narrow bandwidth at the press of a button. Bands can be freely set on the same channel for VHF TX-UHF RX or UHF TX-VHF RX. It's power selectable as well, giving you the option to transmit in high or low power mode.
But the features don't end there. Wouxun has built in a lighted LCD display that is selectable in Channel Mode, and a Power-On display message that is customizable. The full featured keypad is also backlit and voice prompts assist you with menu navigation.
Want more features? Channel Name edit and display, Dual Standby, 76-108Mhz FM radio, DTMF encoding, Transmit Overtime Voice Prompt, low voltage voice prompt, channel name edit and display, SOS function, VOX (Voice Operated Transmit) for hands-free operation and a high illumination flashlight are all standard on this radio.
The UV7D is also rated IP55 water resistant, a plus when taking it with you outdoors.
The KG UV7D is powered by 7.4v 1700mAh (12.58Wh) Li-Ion battery pack for many hours of operation. Power Saver Mode helps increase efficiency and preserve battery life.
The Wouxun KG-UV7D comes with a rechargeable Li-Ion battery pack, belt clip, removable antenna, wrist strap, desktop charger, AC cord, owner's manual and a one year manufacturer warranty from Wouxun.

ITS ABOUT TIME.
After purchasing a few KG-UVD1P's & KG-UVD6, i was awaiting something new from Wouxun with a bit more kick to it, and WALAAA!! The KG-UV7D is it!! Easy purchasing experience with fast shipping & delivery.
Never had issues with Wouxun products and dont expect to have them! Seriously recommending the nee Wouxun KG-UV7D to all mateur radio fanatics!

Good but notb7bwatts
Good radio but only 5 watts, not 7 watts like advertized. Inside the battery area it says 5 watts. Only 5 watts on my poqer meter roo.

excellent little 2m/6m handy
as a portable, it's getting good reports from the local 2m repeater and simplex folks.. also good reports with simplex on 6m (no local 6m repeaters)... that said, I'm easily hitting repeaters 40~60 miles away, when connected to a 6m j-pole mounted on a 25' mast. I'm happy with that.

I bought the KG-UV7D with the 6M option. I live about 4 miles from a 6M repeater so this was a no brainer. I can get get into the repeater full quieting from my basement! Solid feel and easily programmed via CHIRP. Highly recommended!

Awsome Receiving & Transmitting Reports. I bought this radio on reviews and Notarubicon on his many reviews on this brand. I am happy with the quality, smart charger and the radio talks and listens very well. great bang for the buck! Works with chirp , easy to program! All function , no useless frills, buy it!
Talks with Military radios.
Several folks in our Military Vehicle group either don’t have RT-524 radios or their RT-524 stopped working. The Military radios, Vietnam era and earlier, use the 6 meter band. This KG-UV7d in the 6M frequency works excellent and allows them to communicate with other Military Vehicles in a convoy situation. I’m glad to have found this awesome handheld and glad Wouxun has offered it.
