Wouxun KG-XS20G Plus GMRS Base/Mobile Two Way Radio

Fits well in my Yukon with all my other electronics. Very satisfied with the sale and all the assistance from the tech Steven.

Size, weight and mobility are just what I wanted ... I take mine between vehicles and this radio gets the job done on all levels ... I use in the car, my semi truck and the SxS. Perfect all around radio. May have to get a second one.

Great radio, this is my second one I've had the first one for about a year with no issues. Looking forward for great service on my second one as well.

I have it installed and power run to battery. Everything was included and fairly easy to use. I'm waiting for bracket and antenna, so can not say how well it works. Will update later.

Does a good job. Easy to program using Wouxun software. Nice clear, easy to read screen. I like it, alot.

Have 2 805G handhelds, but need something for the truck with a little extra power to get out 12 miles with different terrain between 2 houses. It's like being next door. Thanks Steven for the assistance.

I am on my second one of these. The first one had a reception problem. Number 2 seems to be doing just fine. The guy's at Two Way Radio are great to do business with.

Everything works well. Had to learn the radio. Operating my brain is more difficult. A good piece of equipment.

I have one for my truck and one as my base station. The radio comes pre programmed with the GMRS and repeater channels and it is easy to choose and storeyour repeater privacy tones. Customer Serivce at Buy Two Way Radios is fantastic as well and answered a question I had sent them by email the same day.

Size is perfect for any vehicle. 20 watts is ample for any GMRS radio to reach repeater towers or other hand held radios. Only complaint is I wish it had a quick release bracket to remove the radio quickly. Great choice for mobile radio.

I first purchased two 935G Plus and really liked them. I was looking for a little extra power and more antenna. This was up and running on my repeater in five minutes. When I went off the repeater I was very impressed with my distance and quality of TX & RX at five miles. I was in the woods talking into the city. I was using the Midland MXTA26 with their NMO mag mount on the vehicle. Doing business with Buy Two Way radios has been easy with quick shipping. I will continue to buy from them.

Shipping was very fast. The Wouxun KG-XS20G Plus is small, nice looking and easy to install. The Wouxun KG-XS20G Plus comes with both a cigarette lighter wire connection and a hard wire connection. I'm new to GMRS so learning as I go, I think I made a good choice with the Wouxun KG-XS20G Plus.

So far I have purchased three Wouxun radios including the KG-XS20G and a lot of accessories from Buy TwoWay Radios, from which I have made eight or nine purchases. They have been very helpfull with my selections. I'm very pleased with my purchases. The Wouxun KG-XS20G Plus is a great little mobile radio, I'm very pleased with it's performance in my Camry. It replaced my KG-1000G in my car allowing me to repurpose the KG-1000G to be my base radio. My 3rd radio is a handheld, KG-305G. I like it Too!

I bought 2 radios and antennas radios are good and easy to program. The assistance from two way radios was the best part they helped me get a repeater programmed. Living in the NC mountain area I probably should have gotten the 50 watt to help reach out, but repeater coverage helps out. I have been happy so far with the radio.

The KG-XS20G was the mobile radio I was looking for to add to my KG-935 HT for a complete kit. I did have an issue with the software I downloaded from the site. I called customer service and IT Tech John was able to remote into my computer and upload the software to my system so I was able to program the KG-XS20G. This radio is easy to program as is HT radios. I tested both radios today. My HT and Mobile radios reached my friends repeater that is 29 miles away. Easy for the KG-XS20G, but very impressive for the KG-935. Customer Service is the absolute best. By Two Way Radios and their Customer Service are the absolute BOMB! These folks care about their customers.

This is more a customer service review then a product review. I had a specific use for my GMRS setup and Zedd took the time to walk me through my options for radio, antenna and mounts so I got just what I needed. Then the cherry on top is he surprised me with very fast delivery. I had a great shopping experience with Zedd & Buy Two Way Radios!

I love this radio, far better quality than the other radios in its class. You will not be disappointed.

I bought this radio based on the review Randy of Notarubicon Productions posted. The radio is well made, is easy to program using the menu system and microphone to do the programing. It's compact and is easy to mount in a vehicle. The ONLY nit I want to pick with this is the programing software. For all of us MAC users out there, it would be nice if Wouxun, as well as Baofeng, offered their programing software in a MAC format. Please, for the love of Xenu, don't tell me I can set my iMac to run Windoze. It defeats the purpose of having a Mac OS. I have the lates Mac OS and CHIRP doesn't load properly either. Other than that, it's just what I needed. Wuoxun makes a great product. This is my third Wouxun GMRS radio, I have a KG-100G which I use as a base, and a KG-916 handheld. Can't go wrong with this, but, as Randy has repeatedly said, READ THE MANUAL. Better yet, watch his YouTube videos.

I bought the Wouxun KG-XS20G because I was planning a long road trip in June 2022. The radio arrive mid-May 2022 and I have had it on my desk in my Florida home ever since, learning how to program and operate it before making a temporary installation in my car. My magnetic mount antenna is just sitting on my window sill. Everything is as advertised, the sound is great, and I have set up numerous repeaters with appropriate tones. I have both the unit and mic speaker operating simultaneously. The quality of connections several miles away via a repeater is excellent. I expect that placing the antenna on the car will be even better.

Received this radio in a very timely manner, as was the case with all the radios I have ordered from BuyTwoWayRadios. One screw was missing from the programing port cover, but definitely not a deal breaker. It was easy to program, sound quality was good. I opted for this radio over other comparable but less expensive offerings base on the fact that it has a speaker in the mic. I figured it would operate like my KG1000, being able to program the mic speaker to operate in conjunction with the speakers in the radio housing. Unless I missed something, this is either/or. A little disappointing, as I'm hard of hearing, and that mic speaker working in tandem with the body speaker is a real help on the road. Not a deal breaker, but it is what it is. All in all, a nice solid little radio packed with tons of features, even though the Mode and TDR keys are not labeled as such on the radio itself.

I bought the KGXS-20G to use as a base station to go along with the four KG-935G handhelds my family has purchased previously. I was, as the marketing video on this website says, buying the XS-20G to add another piece of a Wouxun "complete GMRS radio system."

I think they are all great radios but there is an inconsistency with the key labeling on the KGXS-20G unit I received that is VERY annoying. All of the KG-935G handhelds I have bought have a MODE key and a TDR key, and all the photos and videos on this website also show the KGXS-20G has a MODE key and a TDR key. Even the manual that came with my KGXS-20G shows that it is supposed to have a MODE key and a TDR key.

But on my unit, the MODE key has been labeled "V/M", and the TDR key has been labeled "RPT". The buttons do what they are supposed to, but after all the time and money spent to buy and learn the in's and outs of this Complete Wouxun radio "SYSTEM", (and teach it to my family) it is super annoying to have to mentally translate V/M to MODE and RPT to TDR every time we go to use the radio. I called and left a voicemail at Buytwowayradios about this but have received no response. If they won't fix the problem I guess I'll just stick on some homemade labels for this radio. But I'm sure not going to buy the other two I was planning for our vehicles. It's not a "system" if the buttons are all different.

Great starter radio built very solid love the mic cord plug all radios should have that. Only complaint is that aggravating beep when ya turn it on anyone know how to cut that off? But all and all good radio for sure and love the manual easy to read

Perfect little GMRS mobile or base station with great power. It is a very intuitive easy rig to work with.. Love it daily!

So far so good. I'm in an apartment on the second floor so my field of view is not the best. However, when a transmission comes in, it's loud and clear. Scan mode is a off slow and inaccurate. It'll stop on a repeater channel but really be picking up a regular FRS/GMRS channel like 1 or 4. All good though. Also, purchased the KG805 G. This HT is a winner. My 14 year old's Cobra PX655 and the KG 805G are good friends. Even a hillside and distance couldn't split them up .

I really like this radio. It sounds good and transmit is also very good. Programming is nice and not limited to only a few repeaters. Only thing I don't like is having to remove a back panel with two tiny screws to get to the programming jack. I would certainly recommend this radio, especially the microphone connector.

I recently purchased a Wouxun KG-XS20G from buytwowayradios.com to upgrade from my GMRS HT unit. The radio is used for communication to other offroad vehicles for exploration through the mountains and desert of Southern Utah, Nevada and Arizona. The installation was very easy. I chose to mount the Wouxun KG-XS20G on a CB bar over the rear view mirror of my Jeep Wrangler. My antenna is located at the bottom of the A pillar. Even with a very small antenna ground plane, the Wouxun KG-XS20G has an SWR measurement of 1.80. The radio enables us to communicate easily over 10 to 15 miles and around 40 miles when we use a nearby repeater. The Wouxun KG-XS20G is easily programmed with their software and a data cable. The only problem I found was the extremely annoying 3 tones emitted by the radio when it is first powered on. I would have given a 5 star rating if the power-on tones could have been somehow turned off.

First of all I don't like to say that I am so far very pleased with Wouxun radios. I am writing a little review on the Wouxun KG -XS20G radio. The reason why I'm giving it four stars is because I have not had the radio for a long period of time so I do not know how well it will hold up during longer use. I purchased this radio because it is a mobile and it has a certain particular feature that I really have come to like. This feature is the tone scan. Few radios have this feature. The way the tone scan works is when you're in channel scan and you pick up an active conversation on a frequency you can scan for their tone and apply it to either the repeat frequency, receive frequency or both this is a great feature if you are traveling and you want to find out where local repeaters are in your area. I also noticed on this radio that it is more sensitive then other radios which is good' cause you'll be able to hear weaker stations.

I paired this with a DPD Productions magnetic Mount mobile antenna.

I like the speaker in the microphone, and I can also listen to the speaker in the radio itself.

I also like the fact that this 20-watt radio only requires power from a cigarette lighter adapter

The only problem I had was the squelch setting didn't take effect until I cycled the power on and off!
