Wouxun USB Programming Cable (PCO-001 / PCO-009)

This cable worked the very first time out of the box on Windows 10 with the the fleet of Wouxun KG-935 plus radios I own. 15 bucks for a programming cable that works perfectly with no screwing around with drivers, on Windows 10 at least.

I had to install the driver as expected which is available from the support section. Worked flawlessly.

I have the Wouxon UV-935G+ and a Surface Laptop Go2 running Windows 11. Plugged the cable in the computer and the radio and downloaded the 935 to CHIRP. Backed it up, then copied memories from a CHIRP UV-5R and uploaded to the 935 with no issues. Less than 5minutes for the whole process. 5 stars.

Worked but as most of know that alot of newer Laptops only have 1 USB-b connector. KG-Q10G has a UBS-c charging port why has these cable not coverted to USB-c ?

Not much you can say, it works. I suspect it might not be the most affordable option but is fine.

Bought with a KG-S88G GMRS radio. Cannot establish a connection with the KG-S88G software. On three separate PC’s, 2x Window's 10 and 1x Window's 7, Windows adds the Comm port in Device Manager but radio software gives “Failure to open port” error when trying to read or write to radio. I ordered a new cable from Blue Max that has the FTDI chipset for USB interface and will see if that works.

The programming cable work as it should. My Windows 11 computer recognized the cable as soon as I plugged it in. No need to install software.

This cable makes programming your radio a breeze especially with the Wouxun software from Buy Two Way Radios. Definitely recommend.

Not fuss, no muss. Works at it should with Mac OS. No extra effort, it just worked.

Great product. Windows 7 computer recognized it and automatically installed the driver. I was able to rename some repeater channels to local names for easy recognition. I’m happy with it????

It"s A win-win when you buy the well made cable and program and have windows 10 and do get in a rut with the com end of it just call the tech at Buytwowayradios and for Sure,for Sure John or someone will get you up and running like they did for me with my KG-s88g.you gotta use the right cable!

The programing cable worked and the cable is of good quality. The program cd was blank there was no data on it.

The website is easy to maneuver which makes ordering things much easier for us uncomplicated people. Great job keep up the good work. Great customer support if you need them.

Cable worked fine after finding drivers online and using CHIRP. Wouxun did not have software for the KG-935+ listed.

Setting up new Windows 10 laptop. The download for drivers was difficult to i stall and load the program. Got on chat with service and solved problem.

Was very lucky I purchased from this vendor who also sold me the radio. Never would have been successful with someone like Amazon.

The disc is worthless. Had to pull the driver off the Wouxun website after screwing around with the disc forever.

Well made, performs as expected

I ordered the programming cable for the 935G and it works great. I was told to download the drivers for the cable from the 935 G accessories which I did and it worked great. saves time.

The cable works great, very high quality. Just keep in mind, the included CD has been unsupported for several years. Instead, use the free downloadable driver provided by BTWR on the product webpage.

It did take my computer a while to recognize the driver, and I did order the wrong cable, but still worked with few hand helds. Meant to buy programming cable for my KG XS20G

Research stated that cable will not work with Windows 11. Contacted BTWR and staff fixed the issue while I was on the phone. I can program my KG-935G (2) and love how well this works.

It didn't work for me.
I am running Windows 10, down loaded disk with no joy. Down loaded programing directly off Buy Two way Radios and used a Kenwood programming cord which worked perfectly. Wouxun USB Programming Cable (PCO-001) was a total waste of money for me.

but I'm waiting to get the radio I ordered it in August so I'll see if it works and the delivery was on time Everything is fine with that.

I had no problem loading channels to my Wouxun KG-UV8D (Plus). Cable came quickly. Very satisfied.

What can i say that hasn't already been said. It's a very high-quality cable, it fit snugly into my USB port and solidly into my KG935G. Great cable. Great Customer Service and lighting fast shipping ta boot.

You have to download the driver from this site and install it to windows 11 for it to work there. I had no problems once I did that.

Bought the cable for the KG935G and K1000G radios. They worked well on both radios. But the best part of them was the fantastic support that comes with them.

I bought the cable from Buy Twoway Radios. com. it didn't work right a way but the guys at Buy Twoway Radios.com got me lined out and it is working fine now.

I did have to install the driver using the small disk it come with. Works perfectly

I bought this for my Wouxun 905G, and it works great for my brothers BTech radio as well. Don't try to use the disc it comes with, be sure to read the articles on how to setup and use this cable. Those instructions will have you up and running in no time.

Cables are good, usually when you have an issue, it's usually the drivers. Those have to be updated generally speaking. Fairly fast shipping, 16 dollars is not to bad for the price.

I received what I ordered in a very timely manner and it did work for me. I just had to download the driver first, which was very quick and no big deal. I read that the little disc they give you in the package is outdated. You won't need that anyway.

Relatively easy to figure out. Programmed my KG-935G the first time without much difficulty. Eliminates a lot of button pushes and time from programming the radio.

No software issues and no driver issues like other brands.. works perfectly....

In addition to the driver which is included, you must download the software for your particular Wouxun radio... Once downloaded, works great.

Good cable - works!

The age-old issues have got much better. peripherals to interconnect.
If one is not techno heavy, I do suggest the other more expensive USB cable.
In the meantime, get the driver download for this product listed in the download section of the product. I found it but it took too long and real could not tell anyone just how I stumbled upon it.

Its a radio programming cable. I lost my old one and this one seems to work just as well. It uses the Silicon labs CP210x chipset. Its not an FTDI cable, but then again most FTDI cables are counterfeit anyway.

It's a programming cable and it works, so what can I say. The red color is handy because I have a pouch full of programming cables for other radios and I can pick it out of the pile quickly. There must be a chip in the USB A side plug because one does have to install the firmware for the cable to work. Not a big deal.

Bought this cable for my 905 and 935G's. Had great difficulty getting this cable to work at first. NOT THE FAULT OF THE CABLE. I am a Mac user and knowing I needed a Windows computer for this, I was able to get an old disused computer from a local school. This machine has been very abused and has many glitches. But, following the info on BTWR's blog, I finally got the software installed and working. The only problem I had was getting the cable connected to COMM1, which the software requires. I don't know how I did it, but afterwards the cable and software work very well in programming both radios!

Not working

I bought this thinking maybe there was something specific to Wouxun and I needed this cable. There isn't. My Kenwood and similar cables work fine with my 905g too. So in my drawer of programming cables it goes. But for the $15.00 it cost It was worth it because if there was something specific I would have had to place another order.

The cable is fine however needing to install a driver and the software app while not a huge thing was a big turn off. Lose the mini disk, my last 2 laptops haven't even had cd/dvd capability. You need to install the cable chip's driver and then the software. If I had not seen prior comments about this I would spent a lot longer searching for them. Catch up with the times or put in the product title or descritpion in BIG BIG BOLD CAPS you must DL and install them to use it.

The app is extremely straight forward and very user friendly which is why this isn't getting 3 stars.

not a big fan of running programs on my pc but this was quick and easy did not have to jump thru hoops to make it work just put the CD in and plugged the cable in and away I went

Don't enjoy fooling around installing drivers/comm. ports.
Like software app. is easily provided.

ordered this cable before i got my radio because people said other cables didn't work. turned out the knockoff Chinese cable i already had for my other radios worked just fine. oh well. now i got a backup.

wouxun's software seems to be stuck only working with com port one, so if you're having an issue, make sure you're set for com1.

I bought the cable for my 805g. I have a Win-10 laptop. I can not get it to connect. I worked with tech support for an hour we came to the conclusion that it was the cable but I tried it with my GM-30 and it worked just fine. I don’t know what the problem is with my 805g but I know the cable works. I called tech and left a VM but I have not heard back yet.

Running W10 on a Lenovo laptop. Cable worked fine... came with W10 drivers on the CDROM. Works perfect with the Wouxun programming SW (free download) from BTWR.com

Technology is not my friend and I normally do not read the instructions until I mess it up.
So, it took a while but it is actually easy once you get the driver off the disc. Windows could not find the driver but on a positive note, i now have updated all my drivers.
These guys are great to work with/good customer service.

Bought to program my kg805g . Good quality cable and not only works on my Wouxun but worked on my baofeng also.

I already have a programming cable for another radio but this one is much better constructed. I thought the DVD would have the software on it but didn't. It has the USB bridge software. I can download the software from the website but my computer won't let me install it. Since the radio is preprogrammed it's no big deal.

Trying to program a KG-UV9P on COM3. Won't read the radio. Not by using the Wouxun software and drivers, and not by using CHIRP, either.

I had to buy this after receiving my Wouxun KG805G so I was delayed in using my radio. The video for the KG-805G said that a programming cable for a Baofeng would work. I have 13 Baofengs and the best cable. Well, It didn't work so I had to spend another $20 for this cable. So much for the sale price on the radio... but now all is good.

I've used this with CHIRP and these two models without any problems. I'm running CHIRP on a Mac, and it gave me no issues whatsoever. Very pleased.

Very important to not plug into the computer until after you have installed the driver for this red cable otherwise, Windows will install its own driver which, will not work with this cable. If you make this mistake, you are into a fight to get it to work. Once properly installed, it opens up the ability to program the whole radio. which CHIRP does not.

I used this cable and CHIRP and got radio up and running on the first two cups of coffee. You have to use KG-816 configuration as they or somebody has not configuration for KG-805G yet. Also the small CD does not work for my computer.... send a USB Flash drive next time as who has CD drives anymore or a link for software. Speaking of software I used CHIRP as I use a Mac OS not a PC guy...

I purchased this cable to add NOAA channels to my KG-805M radios. I was able to do this as well as set up additional channels with pre-programmed PL codes to limit interference on the frequencies I use. After running the included disc to install the drivers on my PC, everything worked like a charm!

Works Well

Works perfectly and as advertised. Wasn't sure at first because I was not pushing the cable all the way in. :-( Chatted with BuyTwoWayRadios and they quickly resolved the issue. Found out should not be afraid to push the cable in all the way :-) It clicks/snaps in and you know it is connected. Included was the driver CD for Windows 10...did not need it but it is nice to have.

The cable does not work. I installed the driver and at first the program would not match the port. You could not change the port. I was able to change the port after making some research. But then the cable would not read anything. I could not get the program to read and transfer the info from the radio. After that I have been getting a message that there is something wrong wth the cable driver. Don't know what to do. Costs too much to return it and get a replacement.

The cable that came with the radio had a pirated chip in it and MS fixed it so that cable wouldn't work. This cable works just fine

I used it to program the radio with an HP Elite notebook (Windows Vista) and with an older 450Mz AMD Windows XP computer. Both worked flawlessly.

I ordered this as part of a package radio/software/cable deal. Cable feels heavier gauged than most other USB type cable I have come across. Functions as it should. Only issue is that the blocky USB end might be an issue if your USB port is recessed deeper or hard to access.
