I use this around my property, while on the tractor and the riding lawn mower, I have 10 acers and no cell reception on the back side of the hill where the workshop and pastoure area is.
THIS IS THE WORST SPEAKER MIKE I HAVE EVER SEEN. RADIO SHACK DOES NOT SELL THE MIKE ANY MORE THAT THE OTHER PERSON WAS TALKING ABOUT. I HAVE TAKEN THE SPEAKER MIKE TO OUR RADIO MAN AND HE SAID THAT THIS MIKE WILL NEVER BE A TRUE SPEAKER MIKE. SO DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY. THE RADIOS ARE GREAT. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THE SPEAKER IS HARD TO HEAR AND I US A RADIO SHACK SPEAKER MIC AND IT WORKS A LOT BETTER. NOT HAPPY WITH THIS SPEAKER MIC . IF I COULD SEND IT BACK I WOULD BUT POSTAGE IS TO MUTCH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IF THE ABOVE PERSONS WOULD READ THE PAPERS THAT CAME WITH THEIR MIKE THEY WOULD SEE THAT THIS IS A SPEAKER - MIKE. THAT MEANS IT HAS A SPEAKER AND A BUTTON TO PUSH AND TALK. FOR YOU THAT ARE HARD OF HEARING THERE IS A PLUG TO PUT YOUR EAR POD (YOU KNOW THAT YOU US ON YOUR I-POD -RADIO ETC. PUT IT IN TO THE PLUG . THIS IS A GREAT SPEAKER - MIKE .
I should have listened to the other reviews. You cannot hear through these. The speaker is not powerful and is useless. Don't buy unless you like waisting money.
the service was exelent !!!!!
Bought mics for myself and a friend, eventhough they got bad reviews. We use them for hunting and there perfect!
I thought it would be loud. And it wasn't. Love the product, but its not loud at all.
I guess I need to try the ear piece option because our family had a hard time communicating with these at the ski hill. If you are near the base area with any noise at all, music, or if windy, forget it. You won't hear a thing. Everyone most speak very loudly and enunciate very clearly to communicate with these hand mics. I've used a Motorola hand mic on a similar radio that was far superior.
It is nice but needs to be louder. When your in a loud environment It is hard to hear what is happening.
I couldn't hear out it very well, very distorted. No one could understand anything I said either.
I tried this for our loading clerks in the yard and they absolutely hated it. They all said it was hard to hear from the small speaker and the plug that plugs into the radios kept pulling out because the tension on the coiled wire is too high. I would not recommend this for anyone in a noisy situation. Our loading clerks use forklifts and front end loaders which are not real noisy but it was hard to hear using these speakers.
