Great sound and quality review by The Mighty Bunn on 6/11/2012So far this mic has proven to be very durable and has provided excellent transmit and reception sound. I have recieved comments on how clear my transmissions were recieved as compared to other radios. It is a bit large for my purposes but is otherwise an excellent mic, I have no plans to replace it anytime soon.

I've used other radio's, the fact that ICON is not only Rugged and durable, it's water resistant, can handle the toughest conditions, and is built to Military specs. We bought two for our Motorcycle salvage yard and just bought a 3rd. My boss loves it, he carries it on him at all times. Excellent reception with plenty of power to communicate anywhere we need. Used with IC-F24 radios for backcountry surveying. Speaker mic is bigger and heavier than expected, but is very rugged and big speaker has good audio. Those who want to travel light might consider the HM-158L as a smaller, lighter substitute.
