The ACXT 1035R features 121 privacy codes, 10 channel memory, 10 call alert tones, VibrAlert® silent paging, and Tri-Watch scan. Cobra's Rewind-Say-Again® is built right in to automatically record the last 20 of incoming communications for instant replay at the touch of a button. The 1035R is also packed with a lot of other features, including a backlit LCD display, an LED flashlight with flashing SOS function, battery level indicator, power saver feature, roger beep, key lock, selectable on/off keystroke tones, selectable power options, and hands-free VOX operation.
Did we say it was rugged? The Cobra ACXT1035R-FLT is a great companion for outdoor adventure. It has rubberized grips to keep it from being slippery when wet and an extra thick port cover to seal out water and keep your USB, speaker and microphone jacks dry. It's also JIS7/IPX7 waterproof, which means it's submersible in up to 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes. It even floats! And if it does go in the water, a special BURP function will help expel the liquid from inside the speaker grille to keep the audio loud and clear! The ACXT1035R-FLT is also RoHS lead free.
The ACXT1035R-FLT operates on 3 AA alkaline batteries or rechargeable batteries (alkaline batteries not included. You can charge it with either the drop-in charger tray or the Micro-USB charging port on the radio, allowing you to charge it at home, in the office or on the go with any standard Micro-USB charger.

I own a Cobra CB unit, and VHF radio for my boat. I bought this pair of radios because my experience with other Cobra products is that they are sturdy and work as advertised. These GMRS radios are a great deal for 100 bucks. You get rechargable batteries and the radios can be charged just like a cell phone using Micro USB cables.
The "say again" feature is great. You never have to ask anyone to "say again", just hit the button and it will replay the last transmission. The range is pretty awesome too. We tried them in our neighborhood that is full of tall homes. In this type of terrain, the range for GMRS radio should be around 2 blocks, but we were able to get a solid 6 blocks apart and could still hear each other loud and clear. I was even transmitting to my wife from inside the house as she was exactly 2 blocks away. Not bad.
We also used these units on a 4 wheeling trip deep into the woods between my truck and my sister's Jeep and they worked awesome. The only downsides I can nitpick at are that the clip seems a little thin compared to the rest of the radio, and the menu/interface is a little cumbersome to navigate through. Other than that, these area solid buy. I plan to get a GMRS mobile unit in my truck to use as a base station when me and my family go on trips deep into the Sierra mountains and other parts of California.
