Are use this Santana for monitoring the local VHF/ UHF police frequencies also it is pretty good on air frequencies as well as most 700/800 MHz frequency's including trunk system nearby. I have used diamond products in the past and have had no issues with them thus far, also this antenna is great for handheld transceiver use in ham radio . I am also satisfied with the price that I paid for the antenna
Great antenna!!! Works better than the 3 others I have. Highly recommended!
My experience with But Two Way Radio was informative and polite. The order was filled accurately and the antenna that I purchased for my portable scanner worked well and was an improvement over the rubber ducky that it came with.
I found that the fringe area of my Hand Held 2 meter radio was greatly increased by adding the Diamond HT Antenna. I could barely receive a single weather channel with the Rubber Duck that came with the YAESU FT60. Now, I can clearly hear 3 of them. Transmitting range has increased noticably, also.
Bought as an antenna for a Club radio, used for emergency communications.
slightly cumbersome but worth the signal improvement
Bought a Diamond of the same type and liked it enough to buy a second for my other handheld.
Works as advertised. Seems to be made of high-quality materials and did a side by side comparison with my Nagoya 771 and it performed similarly with no problems. Testing was done on simplex both UHF and VHF with other station in a mobile rig with hand-held radio on other end. Applied variable 3 power settings at different distances with the Diamond Antenna performing to specs. Diamond performed slightly better than Nagoya on 70cm and Nagoya got better range on 2M. Urban hilly environment produced 5-7 mile contacts on simplex. VSWR meter not applied/used during field test - only indicated signal strength on mobile radio and subjective audible report utilized.
This is a great antenna and big improvement over the standard rubber antenna of my Yaesu FT-60R. I was able to pickup repeaters and conversations that I was unable to get with the standard antenna. The only CON was it is a bit long, and the antenna doesn't fit snugly to the base. I had to purchase a DANCO #78 O-Ring to make it fit better.
This is an impressive antenna. I am able to hit a 2m repeater in the next county with this antenna on a Baofeng UV5R. It is also VERY flexible so it isn't easily damaged. The only slight negative is that it makes the radio top heavy and therefore hard to stand up on its own. I may have to modify the base of the radio. But that's not the antennas fault.
Lost my old antenna. Put this one on and my radio works a lot better.
Take the antenna that came with your radio and put it back in the box. This Diamond antenna will out-perform the original, increase coverage by 50 percent or more.
I had a repeater I could not get to with another one the same size but this reached out a connected.
I love that this antenna is flexible which reduces the risk of breakage if it should brush up against something. I'm able to hit a repeater in my area about 20 miles away and have loud and clear reports.
Antenna works great with my HT.
I bought this antenna as an upgrade for a Baofeng uv-5x since the stock antenna was garbage. It's well worth the price. I love the fact that it is flexible soi won't have to worry about breaking it or bending it in the woods.
Great reception and great transmission. I hit a repeater 24 miles away on 8 watts and was given a full quieting report.
This antenna works very well with my Baofeng BF F8+. I will buy another when I get my next HT.
Nice antenna working very well
The Diamond Antenna was purchased based on a recommendation to replace to OEM antenna that came with the Wouxun UV6D radio. I have seen a marked improvement in reception.
