Ok, but needs more instructions
This is good for a backup but would be a better product if it used the more widely available AA size batteries instead of the AAAs. Also, the unit should come with instructions on how to place the radio in battery backup mode. Neither of the instructions that come with the Fc-3011 or the BP-240 say how to do this.
Excellent back up for the radio
Excellent addition to your radio if you cannot guarantee access to a power outlet. I use my radio as part of a Search and Rescue team so I must be able to use it in austere and remote locations, the battery pack allows me to always be ready. I would have preferred it use AA, but this is a very minor concern. Overall a great product.
