The Icom A220 Panel Mount Air Band / Aviation Radio is a popular choice for light sport and experimental pilots who need to combine innovation with simple installation and operation in their aircraft. The A220 is only 34mm (1.34 inch) in height, for a slim fit in a panel with limited space. It has a 2 station intercom built right in, so pilot and co-pilot can communicate in the cockpit via headsets with voice activation. Built for aviators, the Icom IC-A220 keeps clear communications a priority.

The IC-A220 has a bright OLED display with a wide viewing angle for easy reading and high visibility. It has 20 memory channels, 20 history memory channels, group memory channels and a weather channel scanning function. One touch access to 121.5 MHz emergency frequency is available from the front panel, even if panel lock is enabled. The A220 is also equipped with a large FLIP-FLOP (frequency exchange) switch button designed for easy access and operation. The FLIP-FLOP, intercom and recall functions can be controlled remotely through a connector on the rear panel.

The A220 also features dual watch, priority watch, slide tone, Automatic Noise Limiter (ANL), dial lock, panel lock, a timeout timer and a D-SUB 25-pin connector. It has a settings menu and a configuration menu. The IC-A220 is PC programmable.
