The Motorola R2 is available in UHF or VHF with 64 channels, superior audio and long battery life. With up to 4 watts of power (UHF) or 5 watts (VHF), the R2 provides the coverage needed for great voice communications in many business environments. It's also repeater capable, allowing even greater coverage as your operation expands.
The R2 features Dual Capacity Direct Mode, Dual Priority Scan, Enhanced Privacy (digital only), and Voice Announcement. It is DMR standards compliant and narrowbanding compliant. It is also quite rugged. The R2 is MIL-Spec C, D, E, F, G, H and rated IP55 for dust and water protection.
The Motorola MOTOTRBO™ R2 comes with antenna, your choice of 1200 mAh SLIM or 2300mAh high capacity Li-ion rechargeable battery pack, belt clip, drop-in charger tray, AC adapter and a one year manufacturer warranty.

Seems solid so far
was hesitant to purchase a radio from this series after some issues years ago, but since motorola has discontinued the vertex line i had to give these a try. they seem to work very well. the price is a little high and i wish they beeped when the channel changed so i know if i accidentally changed it,
