The antenna I received from B2WR is not the UT-72G but rather the UT-72. Whats the difference? Well put simply this antenna is tuned better for 144/440mhz (aka 2m/70cm) than it is for 154/462mhz. I confronted B2WR with my findings but they dont seem to understand this or maybe they do and thought they could get away with selling them anyway. I'm not sure which is actually worse.

Will it still work? yeah. In my testing the SWR is somewhere between 1.5-1.7 on 462-467mhz when mounted on my vehicle where it has good surface area to get good contact as a ground plane. Far from ideal. I have a real UT-72G and it tests between 1.2-1.3 SWR on the GMRS frequency range.

Ultimately I'm disappointed in B2WR for not being able to recognize this error and correct it. The antenna itself is not at fault here. One could simply trim a bit off the top to get it more in line, but you will need some form of SWR meter to do this and it shouldn't need to be done if people did their due diligence.

Not only is this a great Antenna with excellent reception, but the customer service is also outstanding. Purchased this because everyone told me to use this for my mobile.

I tested this ANT and has a great SWR 1.01 to 1.06 on the Wouxun KG-1000G Plus GMRS on UHF channels. and also different handheld radio such as TYT UV88 and wouxun kg-935g. I did not test MURS on it.. but good for GMRS :)

This antenna outperforms other GMRS mag mounts I have used before. It is well matched to the GMRS frequency band, and should do well on the PS band as well. Many dual band designs are compromised for average performance and this one seems to get the job done better, Low profile and a strong magnet are welcome plusses.

This mag-mount antenna is just sitting on the window sill in my office, yet my Wouxun KG-XS20G mobile radio easily connects to a repeater miles away. It should be even better when I put it on my car.

Not being satisfied with the performance of the previous GMRS antennas I have already purchased tried, I thought I would just give up and not try another one. Then I decided to order the Nagoya UT-72G from BuyTwoWayRadios and give it a try. Delivery was very quick.

The minute I connected the Nagoya UT-72G to my Wouxun KG-XS20G (which I love because of it's form factor), I started reaching some repeaters I wasn't able to reach with my previous GMRS antennas.

I purchased these because of a review in Youtube where it seemed to come out on top and because it includes the Magnetic mount. I have noticed an improvement to be able to talk to people that I was not able to before with the rubber duck. Not sure how much of an improvement otherwise. But I like the solid build and magnet.

I compared this Nagoya antenna to the Midland brand which I already own. Sadly the Nagoya was (at least for me) an outright reject. I have other Nagoya antennas that are just fine. Either way - the Nagoya was not for me.

Worked great right out of the box. No need for swr meter, it's already tuned to gmrs frequencies.

Pre-tuned or GMRS frequencies and has an adapter with it to connect to a KG-805G or KG-905G handheld.

If you’re looking for an antenna that already has a magnetic base and cord already pre-attached this is the one. Genuine Nagoya and it works perfect out of the box. Just stick on the car roof, plug it in and you are good to go. SWR was around 1.3 for me.

Have nothing to compare it to but ....the SWR on it is very good 1.15 and the reception is clear....mount is very sturdy

I was expecting a noticeable improvement over the stock 4” tall antenna that came with my Midland MXT275 but I can’t even tell the difference in reception. I don’t think it really does too much.
