The REPEATER-ID-KG1000 is an advanced, plug-and-play solution designed to streamline GMRS and HAM repeater operations. It connects seamlessly to a KG1000 repeater pair to periodically transmit your GMRS call sign via a pre-recorded audio file. This ensures compliance with FCC regulations while simplifying the process of managing your repeater system.
Self-contained and requiring no computer, the RepeaterID_KG1000 is extremely efficient, operating at just 0.1W at 5V. It features dual mode user-selectable switches, allowing you to choose between 15-minute GMRS or 10-minute HAM identification intervals. You can also select between traffic-only or routine identification modes, giving you full control over your repeater's transmissions.
The RepeaterID_KG1000 is equipped with two RJ45 cables that link the repeater's RX and TX radios, allowing for a smooth and reliable connection. It is powered via a Micro USB connection (power supply not included).
Built with globally sourced components and proudly made in California, the RepeaterID_KG1000 is a hassle-free, reliable, and cost-effective solution for GMRS and HAM operators looking to automate their callsign announcements. With RJ45 cables included to connect to repeater linking ports, it's ready to deploy out of the box. Note: some Micro-USB cables may be charge-only and will not support programming. For transferring audio files, you'll need a data-capable MicroUSB cable, available for purchase separately.

Great Addition to Wouxun GMRS Repeater
I've built a repeater with a pair of Wouxun KG-1000G radios, a duplexer and a decent antenna. Until now, I didn't have any way to transmit a repeater ID. The RepeaterID device solves that problem.
RepeaterID's website has all the set up information one needs. I read through the instructions and FAQs while waiting for delivery, so I already had my announcement message recorded and processed when UPS dropped it off.
The unit mounts as an external drive when connected to a computer. Backing up the placeholder ident.mp3, then copying over the new one is straightforward.
After I installed it between the two radios and powered it on, I heard my announcement on the repeater's output, loud and clear.
The RepeaterID is built around a raspberry pi pico running a python variant called circuitpython. It's fun to look through the source code, which the manufacturer posts on their website. I'm delighted to discover the cool use of an off the shelf microcontroller, and excited by the prospect of learning python.
