Great product
I haven't test it out yet but play around with it more get it working.
Works like magic but, Oh! Those instructions!
I'm keeping this short. First, the instructions are awful. Go to YouTube. Or just do this. Take any 4 HTs using the "Kenwood" two-prong connection jacks that are so common: Baofeng, Wouxun.... Plug the supplied cord into one radio and plug the other end into the Surecom 628. Likewise with the second radio. Turn the two firmly connected radios on. Set the radios to two different frequencies, bands, services if you like. Press the red power button and power the unit on. You have a cross-band duplex repeater that will "link" your other two radio users. Example: Connect a radio set to GMRS 8; connect the other radio to MURS 1. A user with a GMRS radio on 8 and a user with a MURS radio on 1 can now talk to each other. Just an example.
The Surecom charges by USB or operates using the charger by 120v power. You could set up your Surecom with its two companion HTs in a tent on high ground, and you've broadened your range.
But the instructions regarding programming a "password" and other stuff are gibberish. Trial and error: I think the process is actually relatively simple.
