Surecom SW-33 plus
Review by Joemix
This is a good testing meter. Reasonably accurate testing meter. I have a few Radios I wanted to test to see if they were putting out the power the manufacturer claims.
My KG805G actually put out more 5.51 watts actually with a fully charged battery. Now some would ask how I would know if it was accurate. I have another testing meter . It’s a Nissei SWR meter . It isn’t as accurate but it’s close enough to compare to the surecom sw-33 plus. The difference is about .5 watts on the Nissei-RS-40 I was getting 6 watts on the KG805G.
I also tested BTech V1 GMRS radios why I wanted to test them is because I bought my V1 radios at the same time that BTech lowered the output power from 5watts to 2 watts. I know now that I got older stock. All three V1 radios on high put out 4.94 with one doing 5watts on high. Very close to my other meters results.
And as always BTWR’s was quick at getting my order to me .
I also want to add SWR testing was also accurate with the Surecom SW-33 plus. It’s also easier to use then the previous model . I’m glad that BTWR sells them now. Wish they would sell a few other Surecom devices . I would really like to see them sell the Surecom SR-328 and the SURECOM SR-112 repeater controller.
I know I can order from others but I trust BTWR more.
Not so accurate, maybe mine is just a bad one
Review by Jorg
Power and SWR reading are way off but when I touch the chassis of the Surecom SW-33 then its more accurate. Maybe its something inside that needed extra shielding or grounding I don't know but it shouldn't do this. I should have spent a bit more and gotten the better one, the"Surecom SW-102"... That's what I'll have to do.
Not as accurate as SW102 but good enough
Review by A.B.
It doesn't seem as accurate as the SW102 but it is easier to connect to an HT with the supplied connectors. It's good enough to check for a bad antenna etc...
