The magnet is poor at best. Hardly worth the expense. In today's economy spending $5 for something that is useless is, well... useless.

Sorry, I was hoping for better.

It can’t handle the weight of the mic and the coiled cable, it just keeps falling off.

Will not stick to and surface for any amount of time. I added 3M adhesion promoter and they still fall off over time. Haven’t fount it yet but there is a better option out there.

The magnet is too weak to support the weight of the mic and cord, even while stationary. The adhesive on the tape is also not strong enough. Nice idea but this particular setup does not work for its intended purpose.

The round head mounting screw does not seat properly in the magnet's bevelled mounting hole. As a result the screw heat sticks out past the magnet's face preventing it from making full contact with a metal surface or the supplied mating magnet.

FIX - Replace the supplied round head screw with the exact same size flat head screw. Make sure it seats properly and does not extend past the magnet's face.

ALTERNATIVE FIX - Using a drill press to spin the round head screw use a flat jeweler's file to bevel the underside of the round head screw sufficiently to properly seat itself in the magnet mounting hole.

I used the ALTERNATIVE FIX twice now with 100% success. I can now securely stick my mics to the mounting brackets of my radios. It actually works better if I don't use the mating sick on magnet from the kit.

1 star off for the manufacturer creating the defect by supplying the wrong type mounting screw.
1 star off for the manufacturer not testing their product presumably after the part change that created the defect.
1 star off for the manufacturer allowing a customer-discovered defect to occur.

Does not hold the microphone well enough.
