The Wouxun PSB-1000 is a base station kit with 12 VDC linear power supply for KG-1000G and KG-UV980P mobile two way radios. Converts your Wouxun mobile into a stand alone desktop base station.
The PSB-1000 kit includes a power supply that is built into the unit to deliver a constant 13.8V to the radio. The power supply features two analog meters, one for volts and one for amps.

Works as advertised but the screws are all loose
Works great. However, the screw holes are too big for the screws to tighten. So it’s all loose. I don’t plan on flinging it around so it’s fine for what it does.

Save your money and buy a better power supply. and a cheap two-tier paper tray for the radio to sit on.
Pro's.
I got this on sale, and it arrived on time. It does all of the things as described in the product description.
However, it's what they don't say. I just assumed would be engineer into this by the Wouxun manufactures.
Con's.
You can't see the volt or amp meters. Even with a overhead lit on. "Because they are not back lit" and it sits at a strait on viewing angle. The radio actually sticks out about 2" right over the top of them. This casts a shadow over them from the overhead lite making them even more difficult to view. I currently have a book under the front of the rig to change the viewing angle in order to even see them. Also, I had to buy two external speakers because the two radio speakers, sounds so distorted being covered up inside this rig. The front two screws that hold the metal sides directly into the plastic side of the power supply don't fit well. This leaves the rig to be feeling very unsecure and wobbly.
Overall, after having this for a month now. I personally don't recommend it.

Solid (clean) power supply
Chose to upgrade to this linear power supply and sure glad I did. When testing with my dirty electricity meter this unit is totally quiet, no added distortion on my AC power lines. It does produce a super high magnetic field within 3ft of the unit when powered on, but that's to be expected with the big transformer inside. Perfect fit for my UV980P, and sound quality is great even with the steel enclosure. As others have written, once installed you cannot access the programming cable socket, so I punched a 0.75 inch hole in the cabinet (centered over the socket), that way I can plug in the cable as needed without disassembly. Word to the wise, screw in your antenna (or a short extension) prior to mounting the radio, not enough room back there to fit your hands.
