Tried several stand alone headsets but these were the best of all the sets we tried.
XLT HS500 Heavy Duty Dual Muff Headset
They work a lot better than I expected. We have a lot of miles under our belts riding along in our side x side, with our ear plugs in, doing a lot of of hollering and and tapping shoulders.

Didn't Use Them, But My Friend Likes Them
Bought these headsets when I thought mine were broken, it turns out I was wrong. I sold them to the guy who bought my old analog radios, and he's very satisfied.
Good Headphones
I would buy these again. They replaced a Major manufacturer's head set as it wasn't working properly. These are solid and sound great.
Great value for the money
I'm comparing the XLT HS500 headset to a Heil Pro7 head set that costs over twice as much--it's a 5 start unit for sure, so consider a 4-star review on this headset as a real compliment.
I spent 12 hours yesterday doing AuxComm for a marathon foot race, and wore these for 9 hours or more, just taking them off from time to time in the heat of the day. Receive and transmit audio quality is very good; the only issue I noticed was that if I had the radio in my vest pocket (radio on my right chest and PTT button on my left) the net control operator reported he was hearing some feedback on my transmissions*, so I held it at arms length during TX. I was seated most of the time, and wearing the radio on my belt would have buried the antenna, so to speak.
*For all I know, any headset could to this--it has wires, and wires act as antennas, especially when 12" away from the antenna!
