Had no problem with this cable, worked on xp and windows 10. This is the best way to program the uv-5r. Chirp.
i couldn't get it to work on windows 10, had to go to a windows 7 computer
Could not get it to work
I was able to get this to work with Windows XP, but not with 7 or on Linux. I think this is due to driver issues/counterfeited software.
Works better than the product that ships with the BaoFeng itself.
Title says it all
works well with chirp
I use this to program the Baofeng UV-5R radio along with the programming disc that Buy Two Radios offers work great and easy.
The cable was great but the software that can with it was software that came with it was very bad I guess it has not be updated in 10 years I found better software on line that worked great
Waste of time and it screwed up my computer settings....this cheap hand held is nothing but a piece of junk to me. It's a good thing I won it at a Hamfest and didn't pay for it. The cord and program did not help at all.
U.S.Govt work .
Could never get cable or software to work with Mac or Windows PC.
Instructions were complete and easy to understand. The cable performed without a flaw.
I purchased a combo USB Programming cable for my Baofeng/Po Fung UV-5R ham radio. The cable is VERY well built and appears to be a very high quality item. I had trouble installing the software as the Windows XP file included with the disk was actually the Vista version and would not run on XP. However I was able to download the driver from the Prolific web site, the company who makes the driver IC, and the trick to installing it is to manally point the installer to the file it can't find (Just do a search of C: to find the location) after you point it to the right file it works flawlessly.
Bought this as a birthday gift to myself to program my new Baofeng UV5R HT. Unfortuneately I have spent 4 hours trying to get Windows XP-Pro SP3 to accept the cable, keep getting a code 10 error. Tried downloading the software directly from Prolific's web site but didn't make any difference. Have tried on two different machines with no change in results. Still hope B2WR.com will help me.
I bought several programming cables from Amazon. Most did not work. The CHIPS in them were not correct. The Cable from Buy Two Way Radios worked the first time with CHIRP Software.
What use is a piece of wire hat cant be used except to tie up old news papers with. No programming soft ware. wasnt able to put it to use to program frequencies into the radio. waste of money
